Beerman's Berg: RcBro/ Secret Agent Chassis I made a few more changes that I'm very happy with. First off I made new front lower links. The reason for the new links was to get more steering without the tire hitting the links, It turned out great. With the Dlux shafts I'm able to get maximum steering without hitting the links. The tires ever so slightly touch the end bell of the motor so my clarence is amazing. Also had Tom make me some Carbon fiber upper links. They're extremely lightweight and very strong, very happy with them. The front upper links are 115mm and the rear are 155 mm. I also made a change to my form set up. In the rear I'm using the 5.25" with the medium outers and so far happy with the results. Here are some pictures of my links and link placement. With the link placement the way that it is it gives me a neutral set up with a slight touch of anti-squat. Re: Beerman's Berg: RcBro/ Secret Agent Chassis Great steering! Getting into the front lowers is a problem I've I had with much less than 70* steering. I've seen a build or 2 with carbon lowers. Now that you've held them and installed the uppers, would you trust carbon lowers? |

Re: Beerman's Berg: RcBro/ Secret Agent Chassis If I had any skill using this phone I'd post a pic of the bent carbon lowers I'd seen. Pretty slick but I'm with you, they would have to wear pretty fast. Perhaps not worth sacrificing the strength in some places. Great thread with crazy nice parts beerman. I've enjoyed!! |
I have never seen the bent lowers, that would be sweet to see. The carbon fiber I use is cheap to buy. It cost me 5$ to make the uppers so I would be ok if they don't last to long. |

I can't wait to drive this truck around this week! Maybe we can get Jason to bring his GoPro out and put together a video for all you followers! TOM |
Re: Beerman's Berg: RcBro/ Secret Agent Chassis Video would be sweet. Just looking for points of view on the carbon/light weight stuff. I've never ran anything but dlux ti lowers. Going to try delrin for the first time on a sporty build. Thanks for all the input guys! Hoping for that video footage soon! |
Some pictures showing the stance, I love how this crawler looks. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/13/apemepah.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/13/pa6e3y8e.jpg |
Re: Beerman's Berg: RcBro/ Secret Agent Chassis Looks great. What hubs are you running up front? I'm not sure if you would have room, but if you mounted your shocks on the inside of those tabs on the axle it would keep the tires off the shocks. Again... great looking rig. Want to see some video "thumbsup" |
