Time to waken this project up a bit I think...

Got some wheels for it! Some enlarged 1.9" red Rovers with gold Voodoo sidewalls from Everetty.

Some weight comparisons:

Reduced and narrowed silver Voodoo

Enlarged red 1.9" Rovers with 2.2" white Rovers sidewalls

Enlarged red 1.9" Rovers with gold Voodoo sidewalls. The weight will decrease a little bit after I shave them and make some breathing holes.

Got some spare time so things are on the move with this project. Got some parts today, but I am waiting on a box of wonderful things from across the pond

Hmm... Magic Axle

As comparison, my home made titanium version of this axle weights 20 g and the original out of steel, 40 g.

I do not know if this idea will work, but I got to much good experience glueing CF to aluminum, and it its to light and stunning not to give it a try

The aluminum is a cheap soft grade, so if that do not last I will try 7075 or titanium instead.

The ends will be threaded to M5 when I get back to work on monday. I also have to make a fixture to keep the axle straight when the glue cures.

Wow!

I'm not sure that I would trust having glued joints in a rear axle, but that is beautiful

Thanks

I have some trust issues myself regarding the glue joints... and the aluminum... and the CF tube, but just gotta try it

But if it seems to work, I will go on and make a version for my "comp Berg" too, but with a built in locker for the 4th V1 gear. If the axle can withstand my cobalt magnet powered confluxes I got on that Berg, it should work for most applications.

Progress is the art of compromise. You are on the thin line between performance gain and risk of failure. Lovely parts man for sure.

Outstanding work, Ride that line!

What turn are your 400s? We found the 16t to be best combo of torque and speed, the faster ones saturate the brush and torque suffers. We still have plenty of arms and brushes and blanks if you need.

Thanks

My 400s are 13T. I have a 14T somewhere I think but not sure.
What would a pair of 16T arms cost? I plan to run this one with a 2S lipo, is the 16T still the best option?

The all white looks awesome. Are those internal wheel rings something you will be selling?
