I'm not used to a build draaaaaaging along like this. Other things need attention other than electronics so looks like shocks are next(which i hate the most).

Traxxas 3.5" lathed,cap mod,Dlux cups & miniT springs
MIP bypass pistons(#12133)

Sooooooo if anyone has any input on this setup PLEASE fire away! I read where mip allows how to install them but just want to check with the current users

Still got more "Dluxness" coming....

Man, if you hate shocks, hold on to your hat! Things are about to get bumpy!

I think I had a good solid 8hr of drive time before I figured out what I liked on the bypass pistons?

What I figured out and what I like:
I like my front to extend fast and compress slow
I like my front to extend slow and compress fast

To do this, you will need to install the pistons opposite of each other.

I just looked at my left over shims. Looks like they are all tan/white and if I remember right, blue sounds like what I used at all 4 corners.

The shims basically set the difference between rebound and compression. If you do a thicker shim, it gets more extreme, thinner shim makes so there is less difference between the two. So, you only want to mess with the shims to get the difference of the compression/extension feel. After you nail that down, all you have to do is change the shock oil to your liking. My taste in shock oil didnt change from the MIP setup to non.

I use 45wt oil in the summer, 30 or 35 in the winter. I never change the shims since I found the ratio that I like.

Wow ty mang! I used the brown 1st & waaaaay to stiff on compression! I got blue in now with 25w oil & made huge diff...but I see they will need tested a lot to find sweet spot.

The wait is over! I decided to break down XR after ECC to get this berg goin. I am soooooooooooooooo impressed with this Bounty Hunter The truck feels different of course but the way it pulls lines is really smooth & very stable

So i skipped the bb's & used the egressor shocks(already built)
13t pullers,br mini's,7950 I stripped a servo horn at 1st comp but 7950 is still ok!

Ty DLUX!

Now i gotta drive....drive....drive...& drive some more

Sooooo.... it's looking pretty good. Erik is one of the best builders in the country, but he and I never agree much on 2 things.

Knuckle weight and Shock setup LOL

I think it's an our rocks vs their rocks thing, where ours have more holes and theirs are more big-one-piece rocks.

Anyway... since you are trying things out with this chassis and setup (and MIPs) I'd suggest much lighter weight shock oil with the BBs. I likes 5wt. most of the time. They are slow shocks anyway. Incredibly smooth, but slower than others.

Also, try your loaded dice with no slugs. Then only 3 or 4 slugs toward the front. It will help carry the front wheel over the occasional hole instead of flipping the truck over into it.

ALOT of weight is good for ledge climbing... etc. but I have a hard time with it on everything else out here.

Put a little more support in the foam up front too. That lower weight in the wheels really pushes hard on the sidewall in downhill hard turns.

Just sayin'

Trucks looking good, you will not be disappointed with the switch, I will tell you it definitely takes some getting use to, I have changed my setup a lot since ECC all for the better, need to get it dialed in before NENC.

Basically what Harvo is saying is that he is wrong and I am right.

I think if everybody could crawl on the same rocks that we could all come to somewhat the same conclusion. I think the rocks are different but then again, so is the person.

Even if you dont throw a ton of weight in those loaded dice, what little you do put in them is super beneficial.

Good point!

The whole loaded dice concept is the BEST

Got a few updates...First this truck is amazing to me because it surprises me every time its on the rocks! Ok on to the lil updates i have goin on!
I used panels provided with a lil paint on em

Skin templates for new Krawler Koncept skins!

Also got the lower sides mocked up to have done too

The next update is the Krazed Builds elec tray! I had to remove approx.025" of total length to clear 7075 skid that was not gettin the grinding.

Perfect

Still gotta replace the short servo horn im usinh til others come in!

Omg I almost forgot I UPGRADED to a Airtronics MT-4 after using one at ecc for like 45sec!!!!!!!!!!!!!+ TY Troy

Bounty Hunter is looking great! Can't wait to see what Krawler Konceptz comes up with for skins. I switched to the Mt4 in the middle of last season and don't know how I ever lived without it!! The lever for dig functions works awesome!!

Thanx Butch! Yeah its one of those things where words cant quite explain the lever feature vs using it! With all the skins out there it was hard "to be different" but i think Michelle(ty btw) has my skins just about ready to look at so we see soon.....
