Re: House’s TiDe Fighter

Well I guess I may need a new name for this thing.
I am taking a slight change of direction and I am going to use 7075 cases
instead of the 6Al4V I had planned on using, so it won’t be a true Ti-Fighter...
I don’t think doing this will degrade it’s build quality and that will open up
avenues for a possible other build in the future. Always looking ahead. :ror:

So you're going to whittle new cases from scratch?

Re: House’s TiDe Fighter

Luckily no. SkaldidDog can keep that job! I have a set of SDS aluminum cases to use. "thumbsup"

Are you guys sick of me polishing parts yet? I know I am! :ror:
I hope I am just about done...

Ordered up some new electronics. I have always had good luck with FXR’s but decided to give Mini BR’s another shot. The other ones I have are the older revision and get pretty hot. Never died on me but always concerning when the skid damn near burns you picking your car up...!

Shiny is good.. keep on polishing parts.
I've been running my original Br-minis since 2013 I won them @ Nationals yes the get warm but never let me down. They actually get hot enough they'll melt holes in my heatsink.

Re: House’s TiDe Fighter

Yes, mine melted through the heat shrink also.
Maybe I will stop worrying about them...

Patience, grasshopper... :lmao:

Got the cases drilled out for the 7mm shafts last night and got a tracking number this morning for the electronics, so that is positive...!

Yup. You are just going to blind yourself when you drive. At least it will look good. I might have to look into gold plating...

Looking at it now, I should have got it all Nickel plated for better corrosion resistance. Gold is gunna be PIMP! "thumbsup"

Lots of measuring and small piddly work adjusting link balls,
drilling c-hubs, sanding knuckles, loading the weight holders, etc.
Motors and esc’s should be here Friday...

Ready to install some motors...
I am going to try the SAF gears first so I can run
standard 48P pinions. If I cannot make them work
then I will fall back to the metric .6 mod gears...
