I'm very good friends with Brian at Phils as well but I dont get the discount I do at Archies, I'm on retainer at Arch's as a outside source for land based RC info.

I've never been to Archie's before. Is it nice? I always heard it was primarily air based rc?

Yeah it used to be marine and flight only but the owner "Archie SR" sold the business last summer and myself and several other guys were layed off. Since then they have really stocked up on ground based stuff big time !
Primarely the inventory is TRX, Losi and Axial RTR's and any part TRX is on a peg. Regardless what you want I can get get you a deal but it MUST be on the low low.

To everyone;
Buy the lackluster response about me asking if we are all having a meeting this weekend it seems we are not ?
Not a problem, I still haven't worked on my other rigs that need attention anyway, I certainly hope we can all get together the following Sunday.

that really looks good, personal opinion time. i think the venom would look good with some 1.9's on there as opposed to the 2.2's. i feel the smaller wheel and tire combo would give it a better scale look that you are going for..

are you going to be making a scaler trailer or motorcycle carrier for the hitch?

I like the way your thinking. I have 1.9 wheels (the axial 8 hole) to put on it already, no tires yet. I'll have to modify them to fit the venom hexs tho. I'm making a motorcycle carrier for the hitch next. I need to find a 1/10 or 1/12 mx bike to build it around. I bought one at wally world a few days ago but its more 1/20th scale.

Jason,
I found this through trial and error, when building from brass and solder everything needs to be beefed up when it'll see stress. I usually go by the design/build it twice as strong as it needs to be motto. Braces and trusses or doubleing up parts with a tube within a tube is strongly recomended.
If I see you Sunday I'll happily go into detail and explain.

I added a couple of braces to where I think it will be weakest. As a test afterwords I mounted it back on the truck and proceeded to pick the whole rig up using nothing but the little reciever on the end. Feels really solid.
