| Re: DmG's - MASTER BLASTER Ouch. I would personally go with like a 50,000 or even 100,000 weight in the center. Still gives you a solid feel but will unload a bit if it needs to. However, not my build so don't think I'm trying to tell you what to do. Be sure to let us know how that works out though. I know I'm interested.

A locked center diff wont hurt if running on loose sand or dirt. It may not be too good on grippier surfaces. My old foff with axial trans runs a locked, its ok on sand, but i dont trash it too hard on trails which i run on sometimes.

| Re: DmG's - MASTER BLASTER didn't make the locker myself ! just modified it. the center locker i have in it was a old aluminum AX/10 aftermarket locker that got striped out. just bored out the center - drilled & pined it to a harden steel shaft. fits right on the EXO spur gear |

everything been fully locked on it from the start even my slash 4x4 SK8 park basher is fully locked up & it runs on concrete. as long as you don't jam up a wheel in something & try full throttle to get unstuck - things will be fine even with 2HP never had any problems - so far ! Ive never liked a center diff. thx everyone !

| Re: DmG's - MASTER BLASTER things coming back together now !! have the Vp EXO motor mount installed & ready to ROCK was not just a direct install though, had to cut a grove in the skid for spur gear clearance & grind off a small hump on the bottom of the Vp mount to make it sit level. MB naked - no upper cage fits in there nice, did have to move the mount to one side for motor/drive shaft clearance. this should make CRAZEY FAST !! i know with the same set up (motor/trans/gearing) in my slash 4x4 on 2 cell, it was fast. should twice as fast on 4 cell waiting on a metal spur gear & longer sensor wire now THX for looking !! |

I meant that motor mount, I'd love to ditch the Axial trans in my foff and go direct drive! |

| Re: DmG's - MASTER BLASTER my problem using a ax/10 trans, was just not enough gear available (for me), and you have to put a bunch of high $$ stuff in it to make hold together. think this will be the only way to go for a super fast rig lots of gear choice now !! EXO motor mounts $36.00 from Vp, just about the same price as a AX/10 trans, but you don't have to put a bunch of HD stuff in it |

That setup looks killer, next think you know it will be the standard in FOFF builds. Great job. |

DMG, does the Exo spur mount straight up to the diff? Then you just need to make output shafts? Is the VP motor mount footprint the same as an Axial skid? I have a Felesnfest locker just sitting around...

This is crazy and is making rethink my next FOFF for the summer time.... Could make a skid plate to mount to, and keep the sand out of the gears. Awesome work. |
