See there are all sorts of mounds of dirt everywhere! No big deal!!! This looks like a blast to me! I am in... I am going to build a scaler to pull my funky hill crawler on a trailer! Sounds cool to me!

If you're really building it for stuff like in the videos, I would go brushless.

get a motr thats 9 or less turn then get someone to recut it and then gear it for torque so you have ws and torque.. and bob's your uncle!

Trickedout , run whatcha got and see how it goes then play with the gearing if that aint enuf speed try a different motor (whatever yur ESC allows). Im gonna try my 27-turns (from when I raced) they still are new (2 races on em') . my ESC's only allow 15-turns at the least. Im saving for a house so new stuff is no option for me. Oh thats a sweet tuber. nice work. |

originally all that sand used to be canyons where normal rock crawlers crawled, but after millions of years of having rock crawlers and trail trucks going over them, they eventually eroded until there was nothing left but sand! by the way, yeah this is one of the times where nitro could potentially be better than electric, those things arent rock crawlers anymore even tho you could build one almost like you build a crawler... its not so much about stump-pulling torque as it is about kicking up big roostertails, and the high rpm of nitros could come in handy for that...not to mention if it was the sound of nitros instead of electrics, you wouldnt need to dub the video with death metal music Last edited by carmatic; 05-20-2007 at 09:14 PM. |

If your nailing the gas then it should be Gas powered, because it's sounds Awesome ! Crawling is pretty much idle, so no need for loud | |

"trickedoutTLT06 Try winding your own motor it is easy and if your carefull you can reuse the wire that you unwound just put a couple of coats of clear fingernail polish on the bare spots on the wire where it connected to the com.check out this link I rewound a stock 27t saturn that came with my wheely king to a 15t and it is fast!this is where i learned how to do ithttp://rccrawler.com/forum/showthrea...=motor+winding you can find my thread about it in the electronics section title hand winding a wheely king motor hand winding might help someone who is on a budgethttp://rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72223 |

Just tested my sons rig with the paddles and 27 turn. not bad , I kept the big white spur that came with the pede and went 20 pinion. shoots 2-3ft roosters. heres a pic. Anyone have an idea how Formula Off-road does thier points system (noticed that in thier vid) Last edited by RockRacer1; 05-25-2007 at 08:33 PM. |

DANG that's cool except it needs alot more wheel speed! and acceleration.
