Default Gmade shafts alternative fix? (Pic heavy)

Just thought I'd share what I've been up to.
Bought some CR01 updated shafts.

They're exactly the same diameter as stock
Stock

CR01

Narrower part of shaft almost identical (close enough anyway)
Stock

CR01

Cut and filed to the correct length

And the flat filed to suit.

The finished shafts.

Had a few 3s packs with a 35t brushed motor and (so far at least) had no issues at all.
Previous to this I'd broken 4 standard shafts.
Hope this helps guys, seems a success so far.

Nice work!
Have you broken a pin on these yet?
I have upgraded mine to XVD's (see signature for link) and have not broken mine.
JunFac now has CVA's available for the R1 too.

Up to yet my modded shafts seem to be holding up fine.
I found out about Junfacs cvd's after I'd started doing this.
After seeing that a couple of people had broken the junfac cvd's I thought I'd share.
A mate of mine has been running a CR01 for many years and never broken a standard shaft so, these uprated shafts should do the trick.

I've now broken 3 out of the 4 JunFac CVA's. 2 of them wasnt even when I was rock crawling. Just driving in soft dirt and grass. Thats 3 broken axle shafts with only 4 battery packs through my rig. Definitely time to upgrade the upgrades.

I would like to let everyone else know about these poor axle shafts and hope to defer you away from them and save your money. Modify some like Syncrog60 (above) or modify some MIP's. there's another thread somewhere on here for doing that.

I findit wierd that all of you are breaking these Junfac axle shafts. I got mine installed when they first released and I haven't broken them yet (knock on wood) and I run mine on 2s lipo with dig and weighted wheels. You guys must be puttting your r1's throught the ringer.
