Default Got a sawback today.

No to much done today as just got it, I will take pics as I go as long as I remember and don't get caught up in the build and forget. Just some unboxing going on today, downloaded a lot of willy's pictures to look at, I think I like the canvas top thing. Im thinking threaded rod with small shock ends will rotate well and the rod will bend easily and fold down.

X2. I will be wanting to see what you come up with for your canvas top, I agree they would look great with one. Enjoy

managed to get some tires mounted to rims, not using the kit ones. I did musical rims and tires with my other 2 scx10's and manage to get this combo, I think it suits a willy's jeep. Desk is ready to go for tomorrow morning, (after I shovel snow ,)

Has anyone made something very similar to the rc4wd shooter shackles? Its so close to Christmas and I would rather make something like them. Kids stuff has me tapped out.

Had a nice day off, got some stuff done on the kit and around the house. Managed to get the trans and axels built now on to the frame rails. I'm not a big fan of the chrome but I wont be doing any painting until spring prob anyway. This kit reminds me a lot of a Tamiya kit. The plastic is almost like a Tamiya but not quite, definitely not the softer flexy type like an axial kit. I was hoping for metal bushings for the steering knuckles instead of the just the smooth bolt. Also I have an imperfection near the trans mount so I hope nothing is affected by it. The axels seems solid, sort of like the revo ones. The kit has no course threads screws in it from what I can see. This is nice as most of the course threaded screws get replaced with fined thread anyway, and much less chance of something backing off. All the parts fit together well no trimming or forcing needed at all. Have not used the gmade grease yet either, used my Lucas oil grease instead.

Got some stuff done last night, might get the other axel on tonight. Bit busy around the house with Christmas coming soon. I suppose my girls will be bouncing off the walls soon enough. I got the suspension shackles all on, the frame rails done and mounted, battery holders and radio box mounted. There is no servo on the axel as I plan on mounting it to the frame rail. I saw in here someone used the body post holes to mount the post and servo tray so I will try that later. Kudos to gmade for actually giving a nice big flat surface for an esc to be mounted on.

]Got a lot done today. Have a rolling chassis and cms steering thanks to a thread on here. I used some parts I hade I bins to do the mod. The spacers I used on the chassis rails are those bushing you use on the sx10 steering knuckles, and the spacers on the servo mount are some old spacers from some venom shocks I had left. Rims and tires are integy high mass rims and tires, I feel they should be on a willy's jeep. I have been banned from further rc purchases for a while lol. Christmas presents have sort of tapped me out and I think I have a bunch of rc4wd stuff coming for xmas

BEWARE OF THESE! they will fly around the room and cause some swearing. I got them in eventually.

What wheels are you using? I love the look of the acorn nuts. Are they 1.55 or 1.9?

This was sold, it was ok but not my thing, the chassis would be really nice with 4 link and coil overs
