| Got a question for Sawback owners
I'm looking at buying a Sawback chassis and extending the wheel base To use for my 1/6 scale Dragon Jeep build, I want a leaf spring setup chassis And wanted to know are the Sawback leaf springs the same Length and width and bend as the 1/10 Tamiya Bruiser leaf springs Cause I have the Tamiya leaf springs and hangers for the Bruiser chassis And was hoping I could use the Tamiya leaf springs and RC4WD Toyota axles Off my GCM 4 Ten chassis, it uses Tamiya leaf spring and the GCM lifted spring shackles or I could use wider SCX10 axles and the Tamiya leaf springs and make my own mounts With out having to buy G-made leaf springs and hangers Does any body know,if I can use the Tamiya leaf springs, since I have 3 sets of springs plus the a full set of the helper springs also Thank you Last edited by kgb424; 08-16-2016 at 04:13 AM. |

Not quite, but close. Bruiser springs as mounted on the truck are 125x7mm (eye to eye). Sawback springs as mounted are 115x7. The Sawback springs have slightly more arch. Imagine that they could be finessed though.

Thank you OSRC So does that mean, the Tamiya leafs springs would give you a little more clearance Since the arc is longer which would lift the chassis a little I'm curious, cause to lift the GCM 4 Ten chassis you change out the hangers and use the same leaf springs The hangers lift the chassis Does G-made offer different Springs and different length hangers I have the Black Tamiya leaf springs the Reds one are the same length only softer I need to look for the Sawback hangers The Sawback chassis is a better choice then a Bruiser frame cause Cause its in stock and $60.00 bucks new and is closer to a Jeep chassis The Bruiser chassis's are used and hard to find for than $100 if you can find one at all and the front curve has a little too much angle Going to look at G-made parts and see what I can find I did see the stock Sawback leaf spring hangers and the leaf springs brass spacers Last edited by kgb424; 08-17-2016 at 10:49 PM. |
