Neo, whats the wheelbase now? If its anything less than 17~ I'd say bump it up a bit.

About the links mounted at one point on the chassis.....

One more thing that may help.....BFT pinions. They stick out a 1/4 inch out of the axle and may help with the length on the driveshaft. It's not much but it may be that extra lil bit that helps.

here's pic:

You can get a couple 1/8 inch nylon spacers from Ace hardware to fill in the gap there.

You're gunna hate me for throwing a completely different idea in here but there is also the possibility of a cable drive system, speedo cable style. Just a matter of finding one which could handle the torque.

It might be a little more work, but what about a chain drive that takes the power from the top of the inverted tranny, transfers it down just above or below the batteries and directs it out the front and back of the truck. You have low motors, low drive shafts, low everything. I believe that is what the twin force does.

It is currently 16.5". I am all for a longer wheelbase, but am still waiting for everyone to finialize there comp rules. I don't want to build my X only to find out that I can't run it.

The way I see it in my mind, the angel at the frame would get better but the angle at the axle would get worse. Later I will test my drawing to see if I am correct.

Can you explain this a little more? What I see when I read your post is a flex shaft type thing like you can get for a dremel.

but what about a chain drive that takes the power...
I have thought about that but could never find the correct sprockets. But just rembered McM so click for the sprockets I am thinking of. I think that with thoes sprockets I could get a ~3.1:1 ratio so I would not need the inline motor reducers. What does everyone think of the Nylatron sprockets? An opinions on if they will hold up? What I like about them is the price seems better that the inline reducers, but what seems cheap usually ends up costing the most. Since they are plastic I don't think weight will be a problem.

I like all the ideas people have given me but I have no time to implemint them into my drawing. At the end of the mounth I have a week off so I plan on working then. During that week I hope to finish the frame drawing and redraw my E-Maxx 2 speed slop reducing discs. To many ideas to little time.
