1st, nice courses people.

2nd, anyone who said they hate living in an apartment....
You don't have rocks to buy, a lawn to mow, toilets to fix, roofs to mend, new air conditioner to buy, do I have to go on?

Trust me, stay in your apartment and save your $$$ for your rig. Test at your buddies house.

Here is my mini course.

Well said man! Nothing more sad than cutting the lawn (front yard, back yard) on a nice sunny Saturday afternoon while the wife and kids are playing

i just stared my "rock garden" today.

started out with an unused section beside our carport

went to the quarry and picked up some small gravel to fill in the hole that this old area was and to bring it up above where the water level will be when it rains.

made another trip back to the quarry to get a ton of large riprap as a starting point for the course

then had some fun time before cleaning the rock really well

im far from finished.. im planning on a elevation change with a small retaining wall some cinder blocks to bring up the floor of my high section and about another 2 tons of rock. Once i get it the way I want it i will add another 1/4 ton of gravel to help fill in the bottomless pits between some of the rip rap and really help set everything in place for good. As for now, i have something to play on at home now ;)

Here is where I "do work" at home when I'm not in my shop. My wife let me put this 8' x 8' x 4' high pile of rocks in the garage. It isn't big, but it is invaluable for testing setups and getting a little more practice in when there isn't time to drive to a spot. Future plans are to make a freestanding rope bridge and some other moveable obstacles. Being inside is ideal, since I can practice no matter the weather.

None of us had the space for a permanent crawl course. So we built a portable version:

We had a great time building this one, and plan to build a few more.

awesome thread!
here is mine (Parents built it originally to build into a fountain of some sort. However, the rock crawling bug hit me and I have since taken it over).

Here are a few pics of my course but it's still a major work in progress. Works good for now for testing and practice but I plan to add lots more rock.
