The only thing that is really gonna change is the space that the uppers are mounting on the axle. They are being spaced out further. The pivot point isn't changing.

Same thing that I did on the front of my Berg with 86jeep's steering kit. It moved the upper mount away from the gear case a little, so I compensated it with a spacer.

a perfect example of offset link mounts is my GX2 Gear Case Link,,it mounts to the gear case of the Bully axles and is really offest but it pivots on center at the chassis,,the fact that i have zero axle steer confirms that it works

rmdesignworks - thank you that's what I was hoping to hear.

It's because the action points (rod/ball ends) are in the same place, correct? Which is why my pencil example is different, then. Cool.

constantmotion - honestly, 86Jeep's kit is really the source of where this question is coming from. I carry his kit in my store and everyone locally has been afraid of it, because of the offset upper link mount. I wanted to be able to intelligently counter anyone's concerns.

I just wish the 86Jeep kit would work with clocked axles :-(.

Thank you!

To clarify further - I've updated the picture with where the pivot balls and attachment points are of each upper link.

Also, the axles will still remain centered.

Only the link mount and the spacers used on each side will have changed. between each two setups.

Isn't that what's happening here? The real question if it is...is 10mm really enough to translate to much difference? I'm thinking no..
That simplifies it but still doesn't show the orientation of the link mount to the axle.

If you put a 10mm spacer between the link mount and the axle, you'll be fine, if not, refer to my first post.

Joe look at the picture included from constantmotion post #21, that is specifically what I am referring to.

I see that you have now added the ball locations in your drawings, and they are where I assumed them to be. As I said earlier, your suspension will not be affected. The important things are the position of the balls, and the straight line distances between them. That is what determines the geometry of the linkage set-up. If those don't change, the suspension will not be affected. It doesn't matter if you run 'Z' shaped links and a gooseneck shaped link mount, as long as the balls don't move the geometry will be the same.

Your good, run with it.

Cheers.
