Default Mini Clod

Here's my latest hoopty and yes that's Faberware . It's still in the building stage, I need a set of 4" shocks. The shocks in the picture are Traxxas xxl and are way too long. I'm probably going with the HPI Rubi body with dark blue mettalic paint. Oh and I obviously copied the Crawler Store's NN Clod chassis design

Here are a few pics of the underside skidplate. I'm probably going to fab new side plates for the chassis out of aluminum, let me know what you think.

Lookin good... How long is your chassis at the bottom, like where your bottom links mount. Mine is 3" and i have a 13.5" wheelbase, my lower links are 4". Yours look alot shorter.. Could just be pics, but judging by how tight your ESC fits in there, the chassis cant be that big. Just curious. I like it

This one is 3" between the bottom links eye to eye. The bottom links are 3 1/4" long and the wheelbase is 12.5". Sounds pretty close in relation to what you have although, are links might not be mounted in the exact same locations on the axles and chassis.

I got the electronics all hooked up and I mounted the shocks .5" higher on the chassis. I still have to order the body, paint, body mounts, and 4" shocks. I took it for a test run in the house and everything is working as it should. I'm probably going with 4ws because this thing takes turns like a damn school bus.

Anyone have a suggestion for what shocks and springs I should run? Also, Is there a 4" shock with balls on both ends?

Here's a few pics of the progress:

how did you set that steerieng up? I raped my Nylint for it's axles and the only problem I'm having is fabricating a steering setup to the stock wheel hubs.

I don't mind at all, I copied The Crawler Store's NN Clod design for the most part anyway.

4/40 rod, 3/16" aluminum tubing, and some ball ends. That's all I used, I had to make a bend to clear the axle housing but other than that just measure and cut to length.

I changed over the suspension to link mounted Losi M-LST shocks. It does not have as much flex as before but it's much more driveable and the articulation is very smooth now. Here's some pics, let me now what you think!

I have this Ram body I'm going to mount up for now. I might ditch the HPI Rubi body idea all together. I like the Proline Rock Pleazer body but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

The body is just a mock up, I'll get it mounted this weekend.
