Default Custom steering help

I am in the process of fitting xr10 cvd's in wk axles. I thought trimming down the cvd would be all that was needed to do this but apparently not. I have one set of axles that I am working on to get the xr knuckles and chubs to fit but I thought it would be faster to modify the wk knuckles to fit. The problem I am having is that when u turn the knuckle the cvd is not turning the same. When the knuckle is at full turn the end of the cvd does not point at the same angle as the center of the knuckle witch works the bearing out of the end of the Knuckle.

I'm not sure what I can do to fix this. I have tried moving the cvd further in the axle and further out to see if maybe the cvd joint needed to be a certain distance from the knuckle to work but it did nothing.

My guess is:

1-The knuckle can move further than the CVD, thus the CVD is at/beyond it's limit. No real fix.
2-You don't have the pivot center of the CVD aligned with the pivot of the knuckle/C-hub. You stated you slid the shaft in & out and it didn't help, so this may not be it.

Did you pull a CVD/axle out, lay it on the C-hub/knuckle and flex them both? You can compare max movement of each to see if this is your issue.

When you flex the CVD's (outside of the axle) look at the center of the "flex". This must match up with the C-hub/knuckle pivot.

Do the CVD & knuckle move further than what they do together??

So where the pin connects the inner axle and outer axle needs to line up where the pivot point is for the knuckles?

Just like u said I needed the pivot point on the cvd to line up with the pivot point with the chub and Knuckle. I had to clean out the inside of the wk knuckle so I could fit the xr cvd further in so I could get it to line up properly. Once I figured it out it os a very simple mod to do.

All that needs to be done is make the flat spot on the cvd a little longer and the inside of the wk knuckle needs to be smoothed out enough to fi the cvd all the way into the end but leave the very end of the knuckle alone to fit the bearing in.
