Exclamation Crawler storage

I was having a hard time with where to put my crawlers so I decided it was time to make a rack. I got a vendor star and am offering these for sale. Check out the vendor thread for the details.

I am looking for input on sizes and finishes that you would like to see. Also any other comments are welcome.

That's Pretty cool. Only problem I see is you'll have some SERIOUS flat spots in your tires after they hang there for a week!
How about a Design that hangs them from the Axle?

I thought about the axle mount but there is so much variation of suspension and components to make it work right.

As for the flat spots they are not as bad as when sitting on all 4 wheels on the ground. At least with my 8.5 pound Jeep with PitBull Rock Beast 1.9s. The load on the hanging wheels are spread over the forward and bottom ledges of the shelf (more contact area per tire than sitting on the ground.) Once I take it off and put it on the ground the tire shape comes right back.

Cool idea. Some people will care about flat spotting some won't. What about hooks so it could hang from the axles. They could be adjustable for width so they would work on any truck, wouldn't flat spot the foams and would also work without tires.

I will play with the idea and see if it will work. This design is nice because it will work on solid axle, MOA and independent suspension rigs.

Like the idea, but X100 on the hook idea. I try to keep the weight off the wheels while I store them

Thumbs up Re: Crawler storage

Here is a picture of the Wraith sitting on 2.2 ProLine TSL's for the last day and a half.

Here it is as soon as I rolled it up off the rack.

Not much of a flat spot due to how it spreads to load to the tire.

Pictures are worth a thousand words.

Here is my 8.5 pound scaler with 1.9 Pitbull's running dual stage foams.

Here it is as soon as I lifted it up.

What if you use a bigger sheet of metal so that it the lower set of tires don't touch the wall. And maybe offer an engraving of the name of the truck or something up on top of the rack. Just some ideas.

I thought about the lower tires on the wall, we all run so many wheelbases it looks funny on where the metal stopped.
I am going to have custom logos or names as an option as I get going. I just can't afford to offer it yet at a reasonable cost.

Thanks for your input guys!

You could add an adjustable arm that hangs down from the bracket and have it act as a "finger" on the Skid plate to keep the front tires off the wall.
If you made Hooks that were wide enough to hang from the lockouts, it would work for LOTS of different trucks.

No offense, but if you all want hooks to hang your rigs, buy some pegboard and hang them that way.

The seller is just trying to offer up something a little more attractive than hooks on the wall.

I still don't get the flatspot dilema...even at the competition level. It's not that serious of an issue when you take a truck off the wall, then take the time to go to your favorite play place and by the time you run your horrible performance killing flatspots are gone. Even if your play place is 5 steps from your wall or shelf, a few spins of the tire and no more flatspots.

No offense taken, you are absolutley correct that I am offering an attractive and safe way to secure your vehicle to the wall. No hassle and easy to install.

not much into hanging my rigs, I've always kept them on a block I built onto my bench and they sit on their skid plates.
