Default SCX10 Al Shock help

Looking for some home brew, DIY, cheep, light spring retainers.

This is my problem I have al boddied SCX10 shocks and mini t springs. All I have for a retainer is the bulky al nut... to big! It binds my rear suspension on my 2.2s ringer. So what ideas are out there please post up what you got. Was thinking something with heat shrink but I think it will just lay over under pressure.

What exactly do you mean by "bind"? As in the preload collar is rubbing on part of the chassis?

It is only affecting the rear of my truck where that nut has to sit is at the bottom and while there it makes contact with my upper links and that causes my rear suspension not to articulate fully side to side ( bind ) if I move the nut to the top the suspension cycles normally side to side. With about 1 to 2 mm to spear between the shocks and upper links on both sides.

Pictures would be great. You may find that running Mini T rear springs or MRC springs will help. They are a longer spring and you'll be able to keep the preload collar higher on the shock body while retaining basically the same spring rate.

If you flip them upside down that might help.

I used a stock ax10 shock body and cut a section out of it to use a pre load collar. Cheap, light and works like a charm.

Really cheap and small is another set of shock caps for it and take off the top so it's just a ring and screw that on.. I've seen many people do that
