Default Vaterra Slick Rock

Anyone have one yet ? Wondering what everyone thinks of it , I was thinking of a Twin Hammers but it doesnt go all that fast ,( I allready have a slash 4x4) thats plenty fast enough) & I want to more focus on rock crawling , which to me this little rig actually seems to look like it will be better at
I would like to hear any reviews on it .

From what I understand, it is just a rebadged Losi MRC. If this is the case, it should be a excellent mini crawler. I have a losi and love it. Plenty of parts support, although other than a broken locker I haven't broken anything.

Its not a losi mrc. Some parts are the same or similar but its not the same. I have been waiting for the hype for these but I havnt seen anybody interested, I for one am.

Guys the Slickrock does use common parts from the MRC. Our idea was to make a more scale like Mini Rock Crawler for the beginner. This was not designed for the expert crawler guy, it is a fun and easy to drive vehicle that has lots of potential. I would say try it out for yourself, and if you have kids I think they will love it.

forget kids ,..I think Im gonna like it ! I primarily fly rc helicopters , but Im always on the lookout for something else when its too windy or bad weather,... I run a slash around, & thats pretty fast ,but Ive always been interested in crawlers , the price of the bigger rigs always kept me away plus I want something small enough to travel around with in the car packed with helicopters & aircraft & use in a smaller space . I know its not like the hardcore rigs you see in these competitions , but for a day out on the trail or camping , or backyard ,it looks like it would be a good fit

I think I remember reading the esc does have lipo cut off ,
heres the manual ,..http://www.vaterrarc.com/ProdInfo/Fi..._Manual_EN.pdf

Im also wondering how does the optional lightbar connect up & how is it activated ?
& the battery location , is it good where it is or would it be better on the front servo ?

The optional LED light will come with double stick tape, you will be able to pull the plug out from the light bar and insert the LED light, them plug it into the reciever and your done, it takes about 2 min or less to do.

What's the ETA on the leds? I've had my SlickRock for a week and keep checking for a release date.

i bought a slick rock about a month ago and im new to the rc world but i have been told its similar to a losi. i have been doing a few upgrades i did a lipo battery, beed lock wheels, integy hub, new sidewinder esc with bec, a digital servo, aluminum threaded shocks, weight on the front wheels. and it drives as good as my buddys comp. crawler except for how sharp it turns i need to get some cvd axles i think. but it is fun. if any one has a slick rock they have made mods to i would like to see it.

I've seen a few vids of the stock Slick Rock. I've got to say it looks good running. Seems like a great entry point into the hobby for someone new/younger. It's good to see the more niche type of RC vehicles getting attention in the lower price tags!

The Slick Rock is great. Made a few mods including Losi Al oil shocks, Proline Titus bead locks with Flat Irons (9.5 oz/wheel - front, 9oz/wheel on back), Lipo and Vanquish LED light bar. I have been very impressed. I gave this to my son and I run a heavily modified (and heavy weight wise) MRC. The Slick Rock is a very capable and a lot of fun to go crawling with the MRC!

Hey Guys. I'm 59 and just got into RC 6 mths ago. Crawling is my main discipline. LUV the Slickrock but have a 1/18 Losi Mini (2nd hand) which seller said was a Pro. It was a standard LMC with a few upgrades. I stripped & rebuilt it with new diff internals. Had carbon sideplates, ally shocks, metal lockers & hubs. Still, lacked traction so I weighted the wheels. Incredible improvement. But I really like the S/Rock. I have a HSP 1/8 crawler too & a Axial Honcho (both new). Honcho was very impressive until I weighted the wheels - now it is unbelievable (fitted beadlock wheels, ally links & steering links too) Those Axial R35 tryes stick like the proverbial doggy-doo _ _ _. Soon I will put them on my Losi MRC too. My research leads me to believe the S/Rock is almost an upgraded and improved Losi MRC but with many "Pro" hop-ups I had to pay extra for as standard. Waterproof electrics is a big bonus. I like the small scale as you can have a challenge on much "smaller" terrain. You have to find big stuff to challenge the 1/8 HSP. I am expecting my Vaterra Glamis Uno any day now then I am planning on getting a S/Rock (maybe the 1/10 Losi Night Crawler first ????). Just gotta give wife time to chill as I still like my cajones dangling where they are
