| Scx10 and wheelbase
Hallo I just got an scx10 (honcho kit) and starting upgrading it I would like to ask how the wheelbase is effecting performance and rig's behavior ... I would stay with the 12.3" but since I have a brand new defender 90 hard body (requiring short wheelbase) , which I love, I may consider reducing the wheel base... Could you please let me know the main differences between the 12,3 and the 11,4? Thanks a lot in advance ! |

huge difference, theres a fine line when it comes to verticals! longer will reach better but to long will bottom you out! keep your wheelbase stock while keeping a good low center gravity, the honcho is top heavy so start lightning it up with lightweight parts! lcg is the way to go... happy trails!

Shorter does pretty much everything better if you have the weight low.

I finally tested my honcho, battery in the front with tilted battery tray... Indeed the honcho body is pretty heavy in the rear due to the tube frame.... I am thinking about getting rid of the rear and keeping only the cabin....or better....getting a jeep rubicon with hard top... Do you think the weight of the rubicon is less than the honcho one? Thanks |

I dunno mine flips over frontwards very easily and that's with the battery in the back. Just have a different problem.

My current rig is short wheelbase. Works great on rocks and tight trails but sucks on hill climbs. Gotta find that happy medium.

My wheelbase is 11 1/8", but really lown center of gravity, but 10" wide, crawls really well and does not roll very easy at all. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk |

thanks for sharing your experiences, I must say that with the front battery and the electronics mounted on the side of the tranny the weight is well allocated to the front... with the honcho body that adds weight to the rear (due to the cage) it seems to be overall well balanced. I see still some room for improvement by lowering COG further with beef tubes for example.. Has anybody the chance to weight an axial rubicon body with hard top? thanks again |

I have both. My honcho is too heavy but I also have a lift on it. I think I'm going to take the lift off. It performs going up hills better than the jeep. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
