It looks like the New Bright axles are open as opposed to locked. I think I've read that before, although it's probably an easy fix. We were at Toys R Us yesterday and I saw the 1:10 New Brights. The tires looked neat, but looked a bit hard (compound). I did notice that the tummy was already pretty "tucked", but remembered your comment about the short run time. I did like the detail of the body (mirrors, fender flares, etc).

anyone have any suggestions as to how I can tint the windows (slightly) (other than actually using REAL car tint which is IMO, my last option.) I dont want to black out the windows. I'm really going for a realistic look. Thanks! |

Testors makes paint specifically for window tinting. You probably won't find it at Wally World, but most any hobby shop will certainly have it.I've used it on a lot of my 1/10 lexan projects and it works great.Try it first on some scrap plastic, like maybe the clear cover from a greeting card box,or blister packaging form a flashlight. You can truely "shade" a window by starting with a thin coat and adding coats to get it darker. Excellent job on the body conversion.I'm a Jeep/AMC man thru and thru.In my family alone we own 30+ Jeeps and AMCs,from my 1949 Willys CJ-2A to my Sister's '05 GC,same color and trimming as the body you used.Wait 'till she sess the pics. Then I'll have to build her one. |

I love those black wheels with silver bead lock bolts. I'm going to have to do that to mine I think.

I have a build thread SOMEWHERE on here of my 1/18th nylint that I slapped an old radio shack body on, with a really rough hand cut aluminum frame. nylint 'yota.... or.. something I still wheel it a little bit, cralws like a beast, only the wheels keep rubbing on the fenders. I'm not cutting it though, I'll just have to keep Tex and his chainsaw away from it. | |

I apologize for anyone who is following this thread. There has been a problem with my webhost that is preventing my images from working. I am in contact with them to get this remedied as soon as possible.. I really can't wait to post some updates, like my extended wheelbase (which makes the Jeep look almost perfect!) Thanks for your patience! Ramza, as long as you stay in the hobby, thats all that matters. And yes, watch out for loulou's chainsaw lolol. |
