Default How much power can a planetary handle?

Hi All,

Just wondering if your off-brand generic planetary gearboxes can handle 3s with a 2700kv Sensorted Brushless?

Honestly, my gut says no but interested to hear first hand experience.

Cheers
ned

This question sounds like it firmly falls under the category of "there is only 1 way to find out."

I doubt the off brand ones will be better then the rc4wd ones that say they won't hold up to brushless power.

My 48p robinson racing and kimbrough gears however hold up to brushless power though so that's a 50% reduction right there.

As much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if that woodchuck could chuck wood.

Which machine are you putting the planetary in?

scx10ii'ish-axled-C2ish fully custom D90 build. I wanted to use a plantetary and then print a scale trans case around it.

Might just use an RC4WD R4 instead.

I think its worth the money to buy the rc4wd R4 transmission or the SSD RC SCX10 Scale Transmission if that's the look you want.
