| Storage of a crawler
I know it's better to store an RC truck on a little foam Block or elevated position so the tires and foams don't develop flat spots. But once you start adding weight like metal housings, stainless links, stainless trailing arms, aluminium beadlocks and beef patties, the shocks are basically holding all that weight when stored no? Is this going to cause damage to the shocks long term? Is this when limiting straps become almost mandatory? Thank you Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

It's a good thought process you've got there but, no. The load that you're concerned about will be carried the c-clip that's on the bottom side of your shock pistons and it would take far more weight pulling down on that to do any damage. One solution, if you are concerned would be block the chassis up so the wheels are off the ground and block the axles up so the weight is off the shocks. I really wouldn't worry about it though, I've always had all my rigs stored on a chassis stand and there's never been even a hint of a problem. Limiting straps are for different reasons all together. |

I hang my crawlers up with bungee cords to the roof rack in my garage like a bunch of butchered meat in the meat locker. It's not because I want it that way though, it's because I have a lack of space and I need to clean/clear my garage up. |

I store my trucks and cars on a shelf. I have something under the skid plate or chassis to keep the tires off of the ground. Recently I found $1 Styrofoam blocks from Dollar Tree do the trick quite well. They are offered in other sizes as well. https://www.dollartree.com/Floral-Cr...0665/index.pro |

| Re: Storage of a crawler If you want something more colorful you can buy 2 packs of yoga blocks and use them as stands for half the price. Or cut them in half so you have 4 stands for a fraction of the cost of the CI block. |

I built a rack for my wall. It will hold 8 or so cars. It's just a 1x6 with dowel rods. Last edited by struhall; 06-03-2018 at 07:28 PM. Reason: Resized pic. |
