Default Battery size for g6?

I may be doing a g6 event, but I have never done one before, so I have a 2s rig and I'm not sure what size batteries will be needed for an event. I'm assuming people change batteries between stages, but how long is a typical stage and how many stages are typically done at an event?

We did 525 gates at malvado. I used 6-1300's for the whole event.

6.5lb honcho, 35t w lots of timing and faster gearing. Your best test is go out and time your runtimes.

I carry 5 1800 3s. I usually use 3 1/2 for a day g6'n. Its better to have em and not need em than to need em and not have em

Should I do something to better protect my lipo in water? I have electric grease at the connection, but do I need to better seal the battery wrap?

I've never done anything to waterproof a lipo and have never had an issue.

I agree. I run in water often and have never water proofed any of my lipos. Never had a problem.

I run with a group of guys alot and our trail runs last from 1-2 1/2 hours. Our lipos are all 5000mah or over 2 cell packs.. We are gonna be running the superlift g6 in September, I'm bringing all my packs.. They are all 2s, 3 of them are over 5400mah...I'm thinking I'll be able to run 1 pack for the first stage and 1 for the 2nd.. My truck weighs close to 8-9 pounds( never weighed it) but I can run over 2 1/2 hrs on a pack and not get close to my cutoff...

Wow, I would think your motors would burn up running them that long non stop! I ran mine hard for about 1 hour and my motor was too hot to touch, but it was also 105 degrees outside. I may try to get one more 2200 mah pack, then I will have three that size and from what's been posted that should do it.

I ran my Wraith on 2S at Axialfest with a 3300kV Pro4 and had to swap packs after 300ish trail markers. Both packs were 5200's, in total I used about 8500mAh for that 500 marker stage, took just over 3 1/2 hours.

I have ran my truck with a 55t, a 40t, and the stock 27t on different trail runs.. None of my motors have ever gotten really hot, more like warm... But not hot at all.. We hike trails all over.. Been to mt nebo, and up on petit Jean this past weekend.. None of us have really had motors get hot...and our shortest hike has been around an hour...I have 2 5800mah packs, and a 5400 and 5000mah pack I'm bringing.. So I should be good...I also have 3 small softcase lipos all around 2000mah... Not sure if I'm bringing those...might in case somebody needs to borrow one
