I've only got a few packs through mine, but so far its been great. The turning radius needs some help. Its handled a 6 year old beating on it in mud and snow. Thats is a pretty good test imo!

Since this seems to use the same axles as the Gen7, this steering video should give you some insight into what you need to do to improve the steering: Edit: Apparently the embed code is being bitchy today. How are you folks getting on with these now? I've a few Axial SCX10's in my fleet but nothing else. I stay in the UK so these are cheap to buy and cheap for replacement parts. What parts are a direct swap out with Axial parts so far? Has anyone tried the driveline with weighted wheels? |

you can swap most stuff about though two of the mounting holes on the transmission box are aligned differently (easy fix most of the time). I have tried the driveline with wighted wheels and it handled it fine. There have been a few cases of the driveline twisting but I think they were all on heavily modified rigs (Brushless, LiPo's etc). My 6x6 mud thing used all Scout parts including weighted wheels and I could not kill that! As Cheap Axial stuff comes up on eBay I tend to replace the OEM bits and they go in the spares box so now most of my rigs have a complete mixture of parts - after several trips through e mud and streams it is hard to tell what comes from what Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk | |

Are the diffs inside ther axles able to be swapped out with AX10 / SCX10 ones? I was thinking of putting open diffs in mines (front and back) and using it as a solid axle basher / trail rig

I took mines out today for it's maiden voyage. All in all, not too bad at all. Really good performance out the box for the price. I ran it all stock except from a 4000mah 2s lipo. Got home after playing around and popped the following in so far PowerHD 20KG servo Hobbywing 1060 ESC Turnigy 6v 5A BEC Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster Sport 21t 550 motor All in all much better to drive. Low speed control is much smoother even with the same 14t pinion. Much more torque as well. Lost a little wheel speed on 2s but since i'll be running 3s it should even out. Steering end point to end point not a problem now even on carpet. |

I am going to swap the brushless setup out that I put in and put in a brushed motor and Quicrun 1060 esc along with a secondary BEC for the servo as the brushless is chewing through batteries too fast (is that not technically a ESCBECEC? Electronic Speed Controller Battery Elimination Circuit Elimination Circuit as all ESC have a BEC built in so you did not have to have a separate battery powering the servos and Rx) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Gave it a proper outing today and it's much better with the new electrics fitted. The Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster Sport 550 21t coupled with 3s Lipo gives it gobs of torque much more low speed control and still has good wheelspeed This was a video i made before the mods on 2s lipo so will need ot do another with the new parts in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMusYJRMglU |
