| Cherokee XJ Body
I'm wondering if anyone knows of one... I have looked for years... I want to build a scale XJ of my Black 87' Just wondering if anyone ever seen anything out there.... Otherwise, I'd have to build it from scratch. That would be fine too but if there was a body already out there, I'd like to go with that so long as it looks RIGHT. |

I would really like an XJ body...preferably the newer '97+ body style as well.

HAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH; Wow. What the hell is that the baja 1000 jeep speed rig? I'd have to pass on that thing. I guess I'm just going to have to make one out of sheet metal. I donot like the rounded look of the newer XJ's I will post up pics but I don't think I'll have time for this till after jeep safari. |

The 97+'s have a lot softer lines than the pre 97's. & I agree, that Jeep speed thing, doesn't even look like an XJ. Just look at the grill. "Fugly" Rob $.02 |

I've been dying to get my hands on a real XJ body for some time now, but with no luck. So, I had to pick up the prerunner body. I think it looks pretty good, when used correctly. Here's mine (see attached). Plans include King Hauler rear axle with custom wideners, J-beam front suspension, full tube chassis, XXX trans, 19t motor.

They are a hair's width over 1.6". To get them to that width, you have to take out two rows of lugs on one side, and one row on the other. It gets it to the perfect size, but the center is a little off. It's how RB did it in XR311 build (scroll to the bottom). The tires in my pic where also sectioned to shrink them down a bit. Aside from Ryan's I have yet to see a cut n shut claw that actually looked decent. IMO, they were too wide, or too narrow.
