Installed the canopy, simple to fit but I removed the wipers for a better fit. The wipers just slide out so the canopy can sit flush all the way along the top of the windshield. There are metal rings in the canopy that line up with little pegs moulded in the windshield.

"thumbsup" It has 2 velcro straps that pass through the grab handles at each rear corner. There's also 2 more velcro straps that go around the forward most up and over bar....hope that makes sense!:ror:

Anyone know if there will be a cover for the trailer?

What’s the reliability update on these things? I have a 1/6 Joe body that I’m either gonna throw a Gelande under or buy one of these. Just seeing what the right path is.

Very good, I'd say. I've had mine for awhile, it's very well made and a very capable rig. VERY HAPPY with mine.

Got mine in Feb, Couple of complaints etc. You have to remove the windshield wipers and .50 cal Machine gun to install the soft top. I am pretty sure that a spare tire would not have a front hub sticking out of the center of it. That was the first thing I changed. They are missing the tool box hatches in the rear, seems to me this would have been an easy thing to add. Except for the dashboard the interior details are sparse, however the exterior details seem spot on. The trailer comes with safety chains but the jeep has nowhere to hook them, so I added some small brass hooks and it looks good now they hang realistically pictures to follow.

.50/.30 cal machine gun has to be removed to install the soft top but it's no different on the real one, you have to choose between which protection you prefer, rain or planes. BTW, the post is inaccurate, the machine gun should have its pivot point further back ... like it is done, you can barely shoot a plane (that's what they were for) and the driver has a headache because of the ammo box.
Windshield is completely out of proportion, hence why you need to remove the wipers (which should be located on the windows frame), but the soft top doesn't match a Willys anyway.
Like interior the engine bay has its quirks too ... there's an unidentified item below the oil filter and the voltage regulator is on steroids, oh and it's an automatic, it lacks the clutch pedal.

It's a rc toy, not a collectible, there are many details that needs TLC, but it's not a bad start, no more than most available hard bodies ... too bad the prices have skyrocketed recently, I would have bought a second one.

Mine is waiting for my health to get better to carry on. Still lot to do on it.

Don't get me started on that engine bay! And yes the .50 is very toy like and I forgot about the missing clutch pedal altogether. (the brake pedal is wrong also) I ordered an extra finished body which comes in its own gray styrofoam suitcase in case I break or lose any of the body parts, I am not as ambitious a modeler as you are so just making some slight aesthetic changes. I wish I could post some photos but I am new and not allowed yet. Am investing heavily in spare parts just in case something breaks. Hope you are feeling better soon cant wait to see what comes of your project. A few more complaints: Yes the floor is too shallow to make room for the Rock Crawler chassis and I am pretty sure the Air raid light and head lights are not on at the same time, also I never saw a rear view mirror on a Willys MB before. with all its faults its still the best looking RC jeep RTR kit in that scale. So I bought a Dragon model of the MB in 1/6 scale only to find it comes with no engine, how can you create a highly detailed model of a Jeep and not include the engine! (a little off topic here sorry). I forgot to mention the fake crate on the rear deck to make room for the shock towers. Also the oversized gas tank to make room for the battery. and I think the fire extinguisher was mounted under the left side of the dash.

I couldn’t find a bumper to fit the rochobby Willys that I liked so I made two versions! If anyone is interested you can get them on my Etsy site

What was the price of this Jeep about a year ago? Is it me or did this thing skyrocket in price recently?

Very nice jeep but very fragile.......If it rolls, it breaks.
