it would take 2 cells to make 2s. The current pricing and inventory is reflected on the site. I think I have about 40 left last I looked.

Any chance that you can get some more of those 1100 cells?

Should be no problem, how long do you need to gather funds?

What cells are you referring to?

I have to say, I'm very impressed with these cells. Although Not from HH, I got a DeWalt pack atleast two years ago and just now got around to making a pack from it. After sitting for so long, they were still almost full, only took about 5 minutes to top off/balance.
Also the two year pack I did get from HH is still kicking hard.

The smaller A123 cells.

I don't have any smaller a123 cells, never carried them. I got some smaller ones from K2 energy, but they didn't have a very good price for the power and runtime.

I'm very interested in these, but don't have a strong enough soldering iron to build my own pack (I am comfortable with soldering though). I've only got a 40w iron, so it would take too long to heat it up, right?

If you (or someone nearby) could build a pack, I'd be interested in getting some.

I'd be interested in a 3s pyramid pack for the crawler, and possibly a 2s2p stick pack (place the cells side by side though - |||| rather than == ) for the scaler.

What should I set the LVC to though?

I would want to see more power on the iron. I will see if my worker will build a pack for you. Otherwise, plenty of crawlers in your area that should be able to do it.

2v per cell lvc. So a 3 cell needs 6v cutoff. Contrary to some marketing, LiFe cells do get damaged when you run them too low.

If they could build the pack, could you PM a quote on the extra labor and supplies?

Ok, so for these batteries, they have a 3.3 nominal voltage, 3.6 max, so at full charge, 3S would equal 10.8 volts? Compared to 12.6 with lipo right? Would I notice the 1.8 volt difference? But these can be discharged down to 6 volts, where a 3S lipo would need to be cut off at 9 volts right? At that point the power and torque would be similar to a 2S lipo right?

Maybe with the 138A max draw (won't likely get anywhere near that with a sidewinder/45t motor)

Also, they are 65mm long, 26mm diameter, so a 3S in a pyramid config would be about 45mm - 48mm tall (since the top cell would nest a few mm into the bottom cells) that may be too tall, but I'll have to check to be sure.

Oh, and I've got a LiFe compatible charger, but what current would I set it on? Edit, saw you charge at 3a, but can do up to 10a...

This is such a great deal on these cells, I too wonder why they haven't sold quicker. Maybe there's a ton of guys with low-power irons like me that can't build their own packs.
