I managed to break one of my lockouts. It was made out of the end of the pvc that was threaded. My crawler took a fall off of a ledge and the tire rolled down the hill.:-( Will be making a new lockout, and some spares today.

They eliminate the steering knuckle, linkages, and extra more breakable parts. One piece axles also help to eliminate some more of the drivetrain slop.

Im with him...I understand the concept, but since I dont have a Wheely King as of yet, Im not sure if I understand where these are located. Front or rear? Front makes no sense to me since the truck wouldnt be able to turn if you eliminate the knuckles. Using it on the rear does make sense, but at that point what doesnt make sense is why HPI would make the rear have knuckles without ever intending them to turn?

They give them knuckles on the rear so you could have the option of 4wheel stear.

This is cool,so i tried it with aluminum round stock,I made mine a little diffrent,I extended the tube all the way to the end bearing,I machined an aluminum support ring for the end to take up the slack and make it tougher
I was affraid that whitout the support ring it may bend or wobble

Support ring installed

There are already Axial lockouts available...look at the rear axle of the ARTR and the SCX10.

Thanks for the great idea. I built a set this week and they worked out great. $1.53 in materials and about an hour of labor. Saved a little coin and did it with no use of a lathe. Worked out Great......
