WOW!! that chassis is awesome. very innovative motor mounting "thumbsup"

I can't wait to see how it works.

Thanks guys...as far as shockless version goes, well I'm not sure about WK specific SSS (although WK axles work just fine on the AX SSS) but I can tell you I will most likely make some of our new leaf springs to try on this. :ror:

Not sure on price yet Goon, lemme get past prototyping first "thumbsup"

Been hard at it today on lots of projects...but I did manage to do some more work on this rig. Keep in mind I only have limiters in the front shocks thus far...and this currently has a tad more flex than I want. That being said, the suspension cycles extremely smooth on this guy and the shock mounting points offer plenty of adjustability using Losi 4" crawler shocks. Here's where she sits now.

Looks awesome so far!!. I have got to have one to complete my DNA collection!!
Have you thought about servo, batt and electronic placements?
Those shock axle mounts are great looking. If you flatten the tops of them you could put a battery /servo plate across them!
This was for a split pack but you could integrate a servo mount lipo plate easily. This was how i had my WK setup a while back ago.

Already have some special things almost finished for the servo, battery, and electronics...not to mention body posts and dig unit  I think about it all before I start cutting parts...keeps me from remaking too much stuff "thumbsup"

Thanks for the reply...def glad there are still guys around who can appreciate a WK build like this!

Cant wait to see more!! Just ordered a wk roller so i could build one when its released!!!!
The wk is underrated IMO, this is just what it needs.
My tranny and axles never failed on my old wk. And my kids absolutely beat it to death!!"thumbsup"

On the servo/batt mount...I've had these in production for quite some time...but am trying to go a different route on this kit I think.

I'm glad there are guys still around that create stuff like this for the Wheely King. I'm glued, keep it coming.

That looks like a hot setup, wish I would have seen it before I ordered a motor plate that hasn't even got here yet. I could have held off for a while longer.

Very innovative Don, nice work"thumbsup"

mississippirocs 04-20-2009 10:35 AM

I am glad to hearr that the AX-SSS chassis will work on the WK axles since I have just WK axles with a R2D. I look foward to seeing some new products from DNA for the WK. Are the Axles link/shock mounts a DNA product? The stock ones suck and need replacing"thumbsup"

Thanks, not sure if an R2D will fit in a SSS tho. The lower link/shock mounts are something I'm working on with this build. The ones on this rig are part CNC cut and part hand made...I might do a bit of tweaking before making them a production all CNC part but the strength, smooth front/base, and adjustablity makes them way nicer than stock for sure "thumbsup"

KvilleKrawler 04-21-2009 05:20 PM

Wow, "thumbsup"

That is one awesome looking WK... I have a WK sitting on my shelf not doing anything. Once this is out you will def have an order from me for one of these. Well, this and a WK dig unit too.

Thanks KV "thumbsup"

Well, I went out today and took some outdoors pics of this thing. Today I got the steering setup good enough for some testing, and now I'm wiring up the speed control and receiver tonight for vids tomorrow (hopefully) Still waiting on the new shoes for this build...but they will definitely finish it off WELL , and the dig is still a week or two out.

I believe they are the 4th set of wheels I ever cut back before I started making production rc parts. The set is 1 of 1. They are a heavy solid 1.25" wide billet wheel with black hard anodizing to protect from scratching...and they run my original "jaws" rock rings that somehow never made it to production either :ror:
