Lightbulb King Sling Tuber Build

**This is NO longer a tuber build!! It will be built differently**

Hi,
I am starting to build a tuber rc models of Dennis Anderson's King Sling.
I have already finished building a model of the chassis:

King Sling Prototype | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I plan using Wheely king axles, and the stock whely king electronics. For brazing the tubes I will use HARRIS STAY-SILV WHITE BRAZING FLUX , and HARRIS SAFETY-SILV 45 SILVER BRAZING ALLOY.

Any recommendations and comments are welcome.

If you can, go with Traxxas's VXL system or one of Castle/HPI's new waterproof Flux systems in that truck to really make it "sling" like it's 1:1 namesake If you need stronger diffs, Axial AX10 machined steel diffs should work, but I picked HPI's MT2 ring and pinions and Blitz spider gears (both sintered metal, should be way stronger than the cast aluminum gears) to put in my WK monster truck ( Monster KING! Grave Robber ) I still want another complete set of RRP/MIP CVD's for that truck too.

The stock WK electronics aren't gonna do much slinging at all. You need LiPo and a nasty brushless system.

Because this is my first project I'm gonna stick to the electronics I already own, but I will surely upgrade it!

P.s. Do you think the WK transmission will survive a brushless motor?

No, you'll want to go metal gear there and look at some sort of better diff gears too. I've bought the MT2 r&p and Blitz spider gears for my Monster WK, just haven't put them in yet, think I might order a new set of diff cups while I'm at it before tearing it apart though.

There are better diffs to fit the WK axles right?

I'm pretty sure you can use axial diff gears in the wk axles. I've seen them in a couple of build threads on here. Search and see what you come up with.

I have the hardened diff gears in my TTC truck that's WK based. The stock wk tranny gears will be popping within about 20 seconds of running brushless. I'd recommend some steel upgraded ones or an Axial trans with RRP gears.

Any more progress on the build? I'm looking forward to this build. For anyone that hasn't seen the original King Sling, check out this video:

I was quite busy for the last few weeks so I'm just getting the materials now. It is kinda hard to find them here because there aren't any hobby shops or something like that near here...

This build just got an interesting turn, It will no longer be a tuber, but will be built out of aluminum sheets.
Here is a picture of my latest prototype, notice that the wheelbase will be longer on the actual truck.
