Grrrr... anyone wanna buy a used 4runner?! I'm so sick of the stupid nanny traction control on the dumb thing. Either that or I just gotta figure out how to perm. disable it.

Nah, this crappy TC wouldn't have helped you. Only if you start slipping at an angle

So I think I finally found out where my issue with the 'heat' with the Jeep was at. Pulled the tekin apart to check the bearings (eventhough metal shielded only, still great!) before I put it on the Clod and found this: So obviously the pinion was rubbing against the motor case, which would translate into heat. Guess that was the only place I didn't check for rubbin. |

i had the same issue chris but with that punisher shaft i gave you being too tight between my tranny and tcase. i dunno if you guys remember but when i first got timmy built it would shut down about every minute. i thought the novak was getting too hot but it was just the system going into locked motor mode. anyway, glad you got the mystery hot dink figured out. ;) |

Yeah... may have to grind a pinon down to avoid that issue.

Ok, I'm just about done with the basement shop renovation. It'll be nice to have a fully equipped fabrication/welding workspace at home and CNC/shop access at work. It ain't much but, I feel like I've accomplished much with just a desk & chair in the corner so, this is a major upgrade in comparison. Flipagram with music by Ministry - Jesus Built My Hotrod I had a chance to play with the new welder a little bit, so far so good. There's room for improvment but, I'm pickin' it up. When I finish customer projects I plan to get started on building chassis'. I'm excited. |

Hey guys, I thought you might like this. I got a winter scaler. Well... its not a scaler yet, but it will be soon. I was planning to do the scale build before I ran it but considering we had a blizzard today I couldn't resist getting it outside. Last edited by motorbikemike; 02-01-2015 at 08:03 PM. |

I was able to achieve some cool stuff with the welder tonight.. These are some attempts at joining 3/16" mild steel rod.. This is .030" stainless plate.. One is a lap joint and then I sort of boxed in a few pieces.. Turned out pretty ok I think for how thin it is and how noob I am.. Thats an m3 nut.. Then I welded some old scrap spools together.. Stainless & aluminum. I'm pleased with the aethetics of the SS weld in this pic.. Sexy! I experimented & scraped a lot of material in the making of these pics. I'm much more a fan of dealing with steel than aluminum. Either way, progress! |

holy beefy plates! That must've been a chore to hack saw. Look into one of those portable band saw & stands.. I've only had mine for a week and use it daily.. Its too easy. Lol Killer plow setup. |
