hi there! i'm new to the crawling scene. i run mini-z and dnano on a RCP home track. i've owned a 1:10 summit and 1/16 summit both brushless. loved my full size summit but it didn't crawl very well-plus the 2 battery thing was a PITA. looking to do some trailing and crawling. still working out on whether to build a wraith/ridgecrest from upgrades parts or buying someone's rig that has stuff done to it. just thought i would introduce myself and hopefully be seeing you soon at some events. i know theres alot to learn but first things first--got to find a rig! john

hey John, welcome to RCC. You'll love crawling, most of us started with other rc rigs and now are totally addicted to scalers.

buying a star is a great start, there are deals to be had but you gotta be on top of the classifieds. You can sign up to email notifications or obsessively check it like I do when I'm looking for something.
Also, place wanted ads and the rigs will come to you.

Sunday we're getting together for a scale run but are also running fast trucks on a bmx track if you want to come out.
We'll have a lot of different scalers you can check out

Ridgecrest is bad for 'scale crawling'. Wraith is much better alternative. Or, as slow [who is really slow espcially in that Vdub of his ;)] points out there are some good deals on SCX10 based rigs in the classifieds

****ing city of chicago...

this morning when i was packing my truck for the gtg i didnt feel like going to i had a ticket for an expired tag. literally the morning its 'legal' to ticket me i get one. 60 bucks...

so i go to the currency exchange for new tags and city stickers. SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS...

i get back home, and while im putting my new tag on, and the ****ing city of chicago parking enforcement is back on my street again taking another sweep for expired tags.

predatory ticketing at its finest... im sure the $60 ticket and the $600 in fees i just payed are going to go some bullshit stadium enhancement or bullshit navy pier renovation instead of maybe, i dunno... fixing what has to be some of the worst ****ing city streets in the nation?

i know the answer is to leave the city, but at that point a person might as well leave the state.

Sorry to hear that Jason. Chris glad you fixed your non-problem and it seemed by the smile on your face that you had a good time kicking up some rooster tails and slapping down some tight and fast figure eights with Miss Geico. Get one.

I think I am going to use some dielectric grease on all the connectors. I'm pretty sure that was what was causing the issue.
