Thanks for letting me join your get together this morning, it was a blast, wish I could've stayed longer. More fun than crawling by yourself. I need to find an easier way to replace the battery. I had the battery originally mounted under the front of the body, so it would be easy to change out, but that created another problem. The body is already top-heavy by itself, now I had taken the weight of the battery off the chassis, which kept the center of gravity low, and moved it up front and higher. Good for keeping the front tires planted, but not good for c-o-g. On another note, I really like the articulation I get on the ridgecrest chassis, and I'm thinking if I convert to the scx10 frame that I purchased, I'm going to lose that. I also like using that Dodge body, but if necessary, I have a couple of polycarbonate bodies I can switch out to when I meet up with you guys again.

Today he hacked off the entire rear end of my chassis and re-did it to be more "ultra-4" style. I wasnt feeling the fender flares in the rear, and he wasnt happy with a few things on the rear end, so we decided to start over after discussing ideas on the phone a few times. We came up with some cool stuff, im way more excited for that build than i was yesteday, that is for sure. Do not be afraid to tell him you dont like something, or want something done differently. He is super cool and open to all ideas. He is very busy with multiple builds, but he puts his heart into each one a little at a time, that is obvious when you start do deal with him. | |

Here is a preview of the new chassis design. I personally love it compared to the one posted in the thread. |

I liked the idea of the flares, but they didn't flow at all with the Hilux front end. We tried to come up with ideas to make the flares work, but it wasn't working. They looked like Baja bug flares or something. I think its just 3/16" steel rod? |
