I don't feel the chains on tire will be fair. So lets just say no chains?

Why would chains be unfair? I don't have any or anything so I'm not trying to sell them for myself but its no different than any other mod right? Everything you install is supposed to help you gain the advantage. Anyone can make chains if they want. If someone preps for a polar bear series with chains...they're smart, that's all. Right? I guess studded tires wouldn't be any different?

It sounds more like its a team decision to just not run them. Its either none of us have them or all of us. If one guy has them, the rest might as well not show up.
So, basically.. If one guy wants to run them, it forces everyone to run them. When the competition is already fair without them and no money spent or time invested.

I've never tried them, do they really make that much of a difference? Maybe I need to make some, ha!

i dont see how chains would help out that much. when i think of chains/studs i think of icy pavement or snow pack. not the fluffy/deep stuff.

I watched a few youtube vids and they did seem to help in the fluffy deep stuff. I think they'd suck on rock and logs but I bet they'd really help on the muddy hill climbs.

Now, excuse me while I get my paddle tires ready

Ive never used them but, Ive seen with & without videos and they look like they work good.
If you think about it, if you use 1/4" chain and make them out of that, your tire is practically 1/2" taller now. That, along with the added 6-8 1/4" steel lugs flopping around whipping snow out from under them.. You got logical reason for additional traction in hard pack, ice and the loose stuff.
I dont think the spike/studs would be as good as chains, except for on ice.

A lot of it is driving styles. If you have never done a trail run in the snow, it is NOT all about wheel spin. Wheel spin creates ice. That is where the chains could help. But if you drive slow and use the rock creeping method, they will do nothing for you.

I'd like to see a Kyosho Blizzard run the trails.

I have wanted one of those for ever, but as my retirement home never sees snow, I can't justify it.

Correct, and no comp tires.

If we do Busse, we need to do a rock course and a trail course. Sitting on top that damn for 2 hours in the wind is gonna suck.
