That is effectively what C2 and C3 are. Except rather than wheel size its tire max diameter. With the 2.2 wheels, Melons is really a C3 if you go by wheel definition.

But nothing you can do in C2 you can't do in C3. And about the only thing allowed in C3 thats not in C2 is dig, RWS, and you can do all the dovetail/boat sides/pinching front whereas C2 only allows 2 of the 3.

Heck you can run a C2 in C3 if you really want even on 1.9s. Personally I think it'd be fine to allow C2 rigs to compete in C3, and C1 rigs in C2 even if they compete in their actual respective classes (i.e. someone could run both C2 and C3 with say the same Honcho if they really wanted to).

DL, what the heck is that guy talking about!?

I don't care, we can stick to C1, C2 and C3 and run the SORCCA rules...
I know all NIRC's rigs conform (for the most part) but I was worried about some of the guys that don't compete on a regular basis.

so you guys will be running the stricter scale rules then? All my trucks are scale but, they by no means have scale points etc. SCRC has always been relaxed with our scale rules so I never went as far with it as you guys.

It's not like you're going to have to sit out if you don't know your scale points or anything. We haven't been crawling much lately anyway. Last time we went to the cliffs we didn't actually score anything, we just goofed off the whole time. It was just a big GTG. I wouldn't worry about it. You'll be able to compete.

run what ya brung but we are scoring this one.
Maybe we drop the scale points or give nonmembers a default 20... or whatever we did before.
Either way, I want everyone to be able to compete and most importantly, have a good time!

EDIT: Let's drop the scale points for this one.

Two trucks are ready... 3 more maybe 4 more will be ready by the end of this week.

My F650

My 1.9 comp truck (just for fun)

I need to mount my jeep body to the frame and it will be done.

Might build a 1.9 ford truck if I have enough spare parts.

I drilled and bolted the slipper on my summit and ordered a monster 611 oz servo for it so it will be done this week.

My rustler will be sporting a brand new vxl brushless set up by the end of this week.

And if you guys remember what I was driving last time (crappy green Mazda truck) will hopefully be replaced in a few days with a 2012 RAM1500 SLT quad cab 4x4 with the 5.7L Hemi.

i dont know how else to say it without just saying it.

im not interested in comps that dont utilize scale points per sorrca rules. if you dont know how many points you have or are too lazy to look them up, and you want to enter a comp, you should get none. no minimum points crap.

a stock dingo will womp my c2 rig in everything besides maybe the sled pull. the scale points lets a guy come in with a rig that might not perform as good but has alot more effort put into the scale part of the hobby, and lets that rig be competitive via the points earned from the build.

you take that away and its just a 12lb rig with horrible cog competing against more capable and less scale-crazy stock rigs.

ok...

Scale points count.
1. Everyone can get their own tally and present it from: 2012 SORCCA Scale Rules

2. If you run an illegal tire (or other), you get a X (10 total?, 5 per?) point penalty.

I'm in for scale points, I might not comp with my rigs much if at all but, I try to build to the class rules. Just in case.and all the little scale items, be it recovery or whatever , are part of the "scale" portion of the hobby.

Is there a prize? If there's not then I could care less about points. I'm just going for fun. I'll just crawl around and not comp if I don't fit rules.

Nah.. Theres no prize. And, we're not going to tell anyone they can't compete. Its just, if you count your scale points then you get those points as an advantage during the competition. If you don't count them then, you just get zero advantage in scale points but, you'll still be scored on how well you do and could still have a chance at doing very well. Scale points are just a way for the people who care about their rig looking scale to be rewarded for their efforts with a slight advantage right off the bat.

I believe we have a sponsor.

I'd say everyone should compete even if they have an illegal rig and take a penalty.
With Buxom Melons current setup, I have a penalty.

Oh man this is getting serious! I guess I'd better dust the ladies off. We need the sled too don't we? I need to clean it up and fix the front mud guard.
