2013 SIRCC Trail Ride Series

Once again, it was a great time. FOTO never fails to provide the best. Saw areas I had never seen before, after all these years and revisited some great old areas. Best of all met several new people. Thanks again to everyone for coming out on a beautiful day.

HEY YALL, this Sunday I'm goin to cascades park in Bloomington, if anyone is interested let me know. I do believe jamie is coming down to check it out with me. 2404 N Old State Road 37 Bloomington‎ Indiana‎ 47404. It's really easy to find. Pretty long trail, tons of rocks, Of course mud and water, not to mention a waterfall. Crazy natural terrain. I think it would be an awesome event to add to the trail ride series

I'm going to rig the gopro up in my scx10 if I can find my other mount. If not I still have the controller mount and my batteries are charged.

Just TWO WEEKS until the next event in the SIRCC Trail Ride Series. This one will be at Cataract Falls on 8/4/2013 meeting at about 9:30 in the picnic area and start trail riding about 10:00.

Did some scouting at Cataract today and found a single track trail that is about a mile long with a great hill climb with rocks, roots and multiple lines to climb. Running this trail could easily take over two hours with a group of trucks allowing plenty of time to play on the hill climb. There are a few places where downed trees will require the Hand of God to proceed but over all the trail is doable with 1.9 or 2.2 trucks. There are also the rocks along the stream that will add a few more hours to the day.

Look forward to seeing a large group at this event. Reminder: There is a $5.00 entrance fee for the park.

Less than a week away. Make sure your trucks are ready to go and bring plenty of batteries.

One truck is ready. The new SCX10 still needs some work but the electronics are in it. I think the axle housing and wheel hexes will be here by Thursday. I have to figure something out for a battery mount if I can't find someone with a SCX10 battery tray they want to sell. All 9 batteries are charged so that shouldn't be an issue.

Amy and I had a great time! Defiantly going to have to toughen up the trucks for next time... hehe. It was great meeting all of you and look forward to the next trail ride.

Thank you for coming out to the trail ride. Part of the fun of working on these truck is find out what will break next and making it stronger.

The next event in the Trail Ride Series is coming up. Make your plans for October 6th at Clifty Falls State Park. We will meet in the parking lot just inside the north entrance to the park about 9:30 and start trail riding about 10:00. Look forward to seeing everyone there.
