| I Might Have Issues
My wife says I have issues I think i'm just addicted Is That an Issue? -------------------------------------------------------------- With the arrival of "New Era" parts I can't control myself ( As if I don't have enough Irons in the fire, Right ? ) That being said: I have always wanted to own a Fully Polished Aluminum, Stretched out, NEW ERA MONSTER TWIN FORCE So this is what I have come up with for this build New Era Extended Chassis #KMF106TW New Era Extended Stainless Steel Dogbone #KMF210XL New Era Outer Dog Bones for Axles #KMF211 New Era Aluminum Bumper #KMF320SD New Era SUPER DUTY Center Skid #KMF334 New Era Wheelie Bar #KMF343 New Era Axles ( When Available ) KYOSHO Velvet coated Shocks #W5198V (turned & Polished) Using "JeepinDougs" Mini-T Cups & Mini-T long springs SuperShafty KYOSHO Brass Shock Caps w/Revo Rod ends Velvet Coating Shocks RC4WD Aluminum Suspension Arms #Z-S0363 RC4WD Steering Knuckles #Z-S0039 RC4WD Demolisher Monster Truck 40 Series Tires #Z-T0020 RC4WD Demolisher Monster Size Beadlock Wheels #Z-W0041 TWIN 1/8th scale "Black" Leopard 2350KV Brushless motors Tekin TEKM2300 RX8 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC ------------------------------------------------------------- The Beginning: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First glance at the "New Era" Extended Chassis was very impressive the Machining is top quality with very little machine marks....... I only spent about 20 min. polishing using "Blue" jewelers rouge and you can see the luster (Shine) Can't wait for Frank Jr. , Owner of "New Era" to make the Aluminum Axles Frank says they should be available March or April 2012........Super Excited More Info on the "New Era" aluminum axles can be found here: New Era Axles & Parts ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "JeepinDoug" Mini-T cups are the BOMB and will make any shock out perform the standard shock I cant describe the performance & action they give, only to say "I now understand why the pro's use them" You can buy them here: Mini T-Cups, Big Bore spring retainers ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Always: Best Regards Rick Last edited by v84x4; 02-16-2012 at 06:03 AM. |

| Re: I Might Have Issues Bling Bling!!! Are the new alum arms longer to fit the chassis. I can't wait to see those new axles. Only one thing I see wrong with it. Why on earth did you tally up the $$$? Silly Rick |

The "New Era" Chassis has 4 placement holes for the suspension arms So stock arms fit as well as the RC4WD aluminum arms (Which are stock length) The 4 Placement holes on the "Extended" Chassis allows a stock length configuration or extended, adding an additional 25mm or 50mm in length As far as the "Tally" goes.......your right I shouldn't of reminded myself Regards Rick

Yes........Chevy Guy for sure I dont think they make it any more I was just looking on Flea bay but couldn't find one Heres the deal: I'm going for that "MONSTER" Look and feel. The RC4WD Demolisher Monster Truck 40 Series Tires (Left) 9.8" tall & 5.7" wide The "Rock Crushers" (2nd tire from the left) 8.26" Tall & 3.14" Wide Comparison between Demolisher tire (Left) vs 2.2, 1.9 and 1.55 tires: This thing is gonna be huge, so I need a body that looks proportionate I know someone has a "UNPAINTED" "Old School" body somewhere I just have to find it............. Hey I have an idea.. Im going to be setting up my vacume former to form a body ovet my cage work and then cut it up so I have custume bodt panels. If it works you could make any frame you want and make a body to fit. just a thought, its still a few weeks out |

OK...........so I'm antsy I found this very well laid out Tire Chart here: Product Scale Spec Sheet So, careful consideration of tire size and scale look for a monster truck drives me to believe that a 7" tall tire to a 1/8th Body/Chassis will look more proportionality scale Your Thoughts? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I went to my LHS this morning to look for a body and tires just for reference and ended up buying some 7" tall HPI Terra Pins & a F-650 ProLine Body I'm not much of a "Ford" guy (as stated before) But i kind of like it the Wheel Wells Sit perfect, centered over the TF axles Cant just have one body anyway, Right? So here is where I sit, waiting on parts to come in from various Vendors to get things up and running............Cant wait to play in the snow More updates in the coming weeks Best Regards Rick |

I looked at the "rock Crushers" but I felt they were to narrow for this build Thanks Man Quote:
I'm thinking of a all black body using "Alclad" chrome paint for the tool box, grill & bumpers Also looking into some lights from "3 Racing" The Wheels are HPI 8 Spoke Wheel 3.2 - Satin Chrome - 83x56mm - 14mm Hex Regards Rick Last edited by v84x4; 01-22-2012 at 07:13 PM.
