Default Jeepin-Paul's 1/6 Jeep Willys 2012 - NEW ROLLCAGE

I made a new stainless steel 1/4 inch tubing half rollcage for my 1/6 Jeep Willys. All the main joints are TIG welded, and the diagonal bracings are silver-brazed into the cage. The old, solid steel rod full rollcage was very top-heavy and caused many rollovers while crawling. The new cage gives much better performance. The new cage came in at 13 ounces and the old, full cage weighted in at 28 ounces. I think I will leave it bare stainess steel. I plan on selling the old, full stick-welded full cage in the classifieds...

Wow. Blingy!! And less than half the weight, that will be noticable I bet. I agree I would not paint that.

Definitely a huge improvement. Well done!

Just as with any performance sport, racing, hiking, or really anything... Every ounce counts !!!.. and loosing 15 ounce of top weight is a big performance change for a scale crawler.

I didn't like the bare stainless steel finish afterall. It was too shiny for a beater-looking old Jeep. I sprayed it satin black last night. I will post photos when the cage is bolted back in the Willys.

It looks great! Your passenger needs some more time in the sun...
