Where are you at with this, any progress with the new chassis? How will you be mounting the body/interior? Also is the stampede front end modified to be wider stance? Nice work! |

Its at a stand still right now. We are getting ready to go on a cruise then move to a new state but I have some big plans for this when I get time again. First off it with have a steel c channel chassis and the intirior with be mounted to tabs I make off the the main frame. I'm ditching the stampede front end and I am going to use a exo front and a rc4wd wraith centered rear axle. It will have a summit trans with summit motor and esc. I've been thinking about this rig for a wile and can't wait to get settled in and get the mig welder set up and torch so I can start bending a chassis. That's cool, can't wait to see once you swap in the ifs and wraith rear axle. I plan on doing a similar build but using WK rear axle and HPI super nitro front IFS

Where are you guys getting the IFS setups from and which are good ones? Do you have to part out a roller for the front clip or can parts be sourced cheaply?

The ifs set up in the pictures is from a 2wd stampede but I'm going to use a exo front end for the final build. I'm going to get the front end in parts unless I can find a complete one on eBay.

I have been trying to chose a set of tires for this and was originally set on a 5.5" tall tire but now that I look at the body a little smaller tire may look OK. I really like the rc4wd mil spec's but they are only 5.19" tall. I'm having a hard time visualizing how a tire this tall will look. Any body have any input on if this tire will be too small? That pic is from earlier in the thread but it gives you a look at the body. When it is done it will sit quite a bit lower. It will sit about stock height. Thanks man. I need to find some time to work on the frame rails for this. The aluminum ones I made just won't cut it.

Got some of the chassis done in sketch up the other day. Couldn't figure out how to get the pictures right from sketch up so I took some pictures with my phone:mad: My feiance is going to be out of town for almost two months so I'll finally have some time to work on this and hope to get the chassis started. I dont think it looks too bad considering its my first c-Chanel frame Body mounts on Line up pretty well Bolted down One more pic of what ride hight will be.
