| Jeepin-Paul's 1/6 Willys Crawling in Maine
I took the 1/6 Willys with me up to Maine over the Fourth of July Weekend. I went to the Cape Elizabeth Point for scale rock crawling, and then went for lobster rolls and fried clams at the "Lobster Shack". Look... |

| Re: Jeepin-Paul's 1/6 Willys Crawling in Maine Thanks. I wish there were more 1/6 Jeeps here in the North East. I love your Vids of the 1/6 Willys crawlers out in the CA Desert. I might have to take a big road trip some day.

Excellent!! It is sad that we are all so far apart. We have a couple 1/6th Jeeps down here in Northern Virginia and a couple more in the works as we speak. It's catching on... |

Love the nice solid axle THUD at 0:11 into the video lol. Question, how much weight are you running in the wheels front and rear? |

Beautiful vid, man. I love the way it moves. Who did the camera work? I find it hard as hell to drive and film at the same time. |

| Re: Jeepin-Paul's 1/6 Willys Crawling in Maine I machined new internal rings for the wheels out of black pipe and they are heavy... probably 12 ounces each. The wheel weight really keeps the Jeep planted steady. The full rig weighs in at about 15 pounds.

15 pounds!?! WOW! Thats 2 of my Willy's. Just weighed it the other day and its at roughly 7.6 lbs lol. Then again I dont have a cage, so far my rig crawls nice with the weight I have since its relatively light. Keep up the sweet videos.

| Re: Jeepin-Paul's 1/6 Willys Crawling in Maine The axles also have extended beef tubes that I machined for it which adds the extra weight down low. I had a large, solid rod roll cage, but it was too top-heavy, so I TIG welded a stainless steel tube roll cage which drastically cut the the weight on top. I had to cut custom stiff foam rings for the tires to get it to support the heavy weight of the Jeep.

| Re: Jeepin-Paul's 1/6 Willys Crawling in Maine My younger nephew is driving and he does not know about tire placement; hence the THUD. Now my boys and nephews are getting older and they could care less about driving the RC crawlers. My oldest son just want the keys for the full-size Jeep. Lucky for me i got my hand me down projekt jeep from my friend, and he got it as part of a deal for another jeep of same size. And that is good as there is only me and him driving scalers ( of any size ) in the eastern part of Jutland ( Denmark ) His will have its first drive on sunday, but it will have to be alongside my TF2 as my projekt is no way near ready for its maidan voyage. |
