the Altec lansing portable speakers are pretty amazing, speakers are about 1"1/4 1100mah. I might them instead so I have the latest technology best sound "thumbsup" |
This crawler looks sick!!! How many hours are you into building it yet? |

You got a PM. Quote:
Nice looking build so far. Theres allot of cool ideas going into this. I like it. I tried running 1/4" steel heim joints for links on my super sometime back in 2004. Theres a thread that SR5Dave started with TONS of options in that area. IMHO,they are just to heavy. Running the delrin links though, will help overcome the weight of the big heims. I used thinwall C1018 tubing for mine. Quote:
The rear most tranny plate was flipped. The tranny plate that the motor mounts to was trimmed to fit. The tranny case was swapped for an R2 case |

No other parts were used, but that coul dbe done, I just have a opening in the bottom that I will seal up with aluminum plate and silicon sealant. |

The first picture is of a straight cut gear set. You'll see the difference in the second picture. Yours(the thrird picture)are straight cut.8) Nothing wrong with that, they are still a steel ring and pinion and when shimmed up right, they'll be really strong. I just didn't want false info floating around"thumbsup" |
Those are really nice, Where do you get them? Got it Rolling Thanks giving morning for the kids to play with, including me:-P Drove it from dining room to sliding door, drove up window and slowly back down, then drove it to back porch about 15 feet total, then it BROKE ! Not even 3 MINUTES ! Damm tranny  pulled the sucker apart the gear shaft that has 2 different small gears on it one of them is ? pressed splined on so it Stripped. Nothing Like Building like crazy so you can share with your nephew only to have a Bran new part break without even crawling, then NO way to Fix it on this beautifull 4 day weekend, Sucks :-( Looks like these 2 speeds trannies are much weaker than a regular R2 |
Keep it going! |
Check out Radioshack for some speakers: http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search http://rsk.imageg.net/graphics/produ...516944w345.jpg iSymphony T-Speaker for iPod® (Black) $19.99 Saw them in radio shack they are smaller than the spec's say. |
Brockgrimes those speakers sound just like they look, puney :-( I bought Altec Lansing 4 speakers $25. 4 WATTS ! Wish I could Have 18 Volts to Run JBL's !! ANYBODY No how to step up 10 volts to 18 without a big transformer ??? |
RC4WD says they will send me another tranny, I was hoping to drive to them since they are 5 miles away but they said NO but it's just going to break again so I'm slappin in a MIP tranny |

if you will lay it down and mod the motor plate for 1 motor it will fit just fine i'd guess;-) What material is the tube chassis? Looks great! |
