Glad to hear the 90t motor is still working well for you and still has a home!

Having problems! With the bigger tires, extra weight, the bigger motor, and I am sure due also to the dig...I am wearing out the front end. In specific the axle slop is getting bad quick. I can hold one front tire and turn the other twice as far as I can with the rear wheels. It is wollowing out the inner axle holes on the gears. It actually causes crawling issues as the wheels don't spin perfectly together. I really think it's the dig that made it worse cause I had big tires on it before without any issues. It is cheap to fix but I wanted to state it to warn those looking to do a dig woth big tires. Otherwise...the motor is soooooo goooood! The low end power and control are perfect and the wheel speed is blistering when needed. I haven't broken any drive lines yet but they are showing signs of wear. I love driving this thing so much. I will be making another tuber with this same set-up with more ground clearance. This one does hang up a little too much. The ballance and climbing are SICK and the QLO's CAN NOT BE BEAT! If I still had a 1:1 buggy I would look for tires like these. |

What spur and pinion gears are you currently using? Or are you still using the stock spur and gear from the transfer case as a pinion?

I love this 80t PN racing 130 motor and gearing combination. I am going to throw another motor combo like this on a stock ESC and stock size tires just to see how this motor works on a smaller rig. It really isn't that much extra weight.

Thanks! I had been searching for a good alternative to Getbents motor and found the PN 80t and ordered one, THEN realized you had already done it Nice to know ahead of time that it works. Great job on it man! Mine will be going on a rig with stock sized tires, but they are weighted pretty heavy. Last edited by StreetKill831; 03-25-2011 at 07:34 AM. |

How soon are you trying it? Do you already have plans for a new motor plate?

I'm going to be trying to cut the plate out today. What hardware did you find that fit the motor? So far I can't find any screws that fit. Last edited by StreetKill831; 03-25-2011 at 09:16 AM. |

| They are 2mm x 4mm long. I got them from my LHS. I thought that there were some in a general screw kit for the micro but I looked at the losi instructions and couldn't identify them in the pictures to get a part #. Sorry.

Thanks, I'll have to stop by my LHS today and see if they have some. Here's what I have so far(made from 1/16" stainless): Waiting on those screws and the pinion so that I can then do some final drilling/grinding to get the motor mounted and mesh good. Pretty good for a couple hours with some shears/a drill/ and a grinder |

Looks good. You should throw on a 56t spur. It helps to take up the distance. Do you plan on using the small trany gear as a pinion?

Just ordered the HR 55t Spur(didn't have the 56t). Yea I'll be using the trans gear as the pinion. Now I just have to wait.. |

You will probably want the neo magnets then...without them you may not like the low end...it's just ok. The extra gearing by going with a smaller pinion gear was perfect but it wasn't easy.

Yea I was already planning on getting the bearing and neo kit. Think you could post a pic of how it is since changing the pinion?

somebody has to bump this back up onto the first page. this build is sweet. danally your rig on youtube is the one that inspired me to build a tuber with miqlos and i didnt even know it!! sick work. ill be trying a dig as soon as my funds are raised again. for being so small they tend to drain wallets pretty quickly.... |
