Can you show me the back of the rim where you epoxied the hex on? and what type of epoxy did you use and how did you line it up? an old axel shaft? i picked up a set of front micro 8 rims today and have 2 sets of rims and tires coming, just want to get everything together. thanks

I will try & get you a pic up tonight after dinner I use plastic weld its a 2 part epoxy that can be had at the auto parts store I use the back of a dremel bit to line it up but a stock stub axle would work to...I always let it sit for a minute before I pull the bit out & scrape away the ooze with a exacto blade. | |

If the material is thick enough I could put a drive pin groove in the wheel on the lathe if you want me to try. Does the hex glued on the rim add thickness so the wheel nut is spaced to tighten the wheel down right? Or is there more to the mod? |

Yeah Dan I don't think they are thick enough to grove...I run the stock crawler stubs & hex's up front & they grab the nylocks with a thread or two sticking out..In the rear I run trekker stubs & hex's but they don't grab the nylocks...Weird!

Chevy, how would the 73:1 units compare? A Losi with 10/59 gearing runs 177:1. This setup is around 43:1. With the 73:1 units it would be closer the Losi at 135:1, though a tad quicker. I can appreciate the speed you're getting out of this thing in the right place, but I have a slower driving style. Sent from my SCH-I535 now Free |
