Default Sumo guys...I need a little help!

Got a new ESC in the package from 89ranger. I followed the binding instructions and it WILL NOT BIND!!! I saw that it doesn't have an antennae wire and I read a post about that a while back. I tried soldering on my old wire to it with no change. The esc just keeps on blinking fast and never does anything else. Turned it on/off in the bind process dozens of times with no difference.

Any thoughts on why it won't bind to the Redcat radio?!?!?!

I have had this problem before go through all my remotes to find the one that binds takes ages if you have the sumo curse ..

Its like they have 2 diffrent 2.4 boards sounds strange but its true ....Check this out:

This is for the rx only on the bigger rigs but I think the micro boards are the same deal
E710GOLD

E710BLUE

Notice how they say to contact them for a matching unit:

24734

Edit: I just checked out some sumo boards to find they are like the big bro rx units, some are blue while the others are green..Check your burnt board & verify its the same color as your new one...

If you don't have the remote you're focked lol... I watched Chevy go threw 10 remotes trying to find the right one... Not only that the sumo electronics suck butt. I've burnt two, connected to a stock losi can..

Ya my radio is from a redcat sumo I had a long time ago and never really used. I looked at the new ESC/receiver combo unit and it is identical to the one I smoked...even the part numbers on it.

Any thoughts on what to do?

Part #'s are the same but is the color of the board the same?

Also the bind buttons are diffrent colors the blue board has a black button while the green board has a white one.

Dan, I apologize for the trouble! I didn't even know there were different boards for these things. As for the antenna, mine doesn't have one either. Like I said, as long as I keep the motor and servo wiring away from it, and good batteries in the TX, it does pretty good. I also noticed, these TX units are trash with rechargeable AAs in them (1.2V/cell, opposed to 1.5V/cell for alkaline).
