Default Gearing Question

Hey guys is it worth buying a 58 or 59 tooth spur gear to add a little torque to a stock running losi , I have two DDT 100T but with the stock tires its way to slow. Any info would be much appreciated.

If the motors are too slow a 58 or 59 are the wrong way to go. They will slow it down even more. The only way to get speed and low end control is a stroker at a 50 turn or so. The little motors are so limited. It's either speed or torque but not both. Sorry.

I think i worded this wrong , Right now it has a stock motor , I also have a second rig with a your 100t in it , so to try it out i put stock tires in that rig and it is very slow. I'm wondering if i can gear down a stock drivetrain rig to get a bit of torque out of it , And if it would run a little cooler.

Ah...then yes you can do a 58 or 59 gear on a stock motor. It helps but not a ton. The heat is usually still a factor. But it's worth a try to see if it suits your needs! It will give you more torque but it will slow it down. Good luck!

I think the pinion is a 10 and the spur is a 54.

The largest spur gear you can use without modifying is 56t. There is also the option to use a 9 tooth brass pinion which helps. One of the blade micro helicopters uses a 9 pin pinion, the pitch is .3mod and the motor shaft is 1.5mm.
