I swapped in a Losi Frenzy motor, with 12-15 pinions, 15 in the vid. It hasn't stalled out yet, and has crazy wheelspeed. It does get a little warm with that big a pinion, but nothing to worry about And the benefits outweigh the drawbacks
Just need some drive time on it to get used to it.

Do you have links or part # for the motor and pinions? That looks like a great combo and i would like to try it out in my GC2 I am building.

I don't, I picked them up at my LHS, and didn't pay any attention to them.

That little motor works great also ,but I think you have to knotch out the motor plate because the bolt pattern is a little bigger on that motor

My mistake, it is a Losi Insane motor, not the Frenzy It doesn't have the sealed endbell, it is a mod motor with an open endbell...rebuildable.

That's with the 15T pinion, I think a 14 would be the sweet spot. I had the 12 in it when you drove it at the comp(for comparison);)

Changed up a couple things after it's first comp, since my battery took a dump and my other packs won't fit on the front axle.

Centered the servo

Battery fits perfectly between the chassis plates, as well as the esc. I decided to put the rx on the rear linkplate for now, until I get a micro rx for it.

Made new steering links

I also took the weights out of the rear wheels, as everything isn't in the front of the car now. I will also be adding some lead stick on weight under the servo plate for more front bias.

People do it both ways, for me, it's just easier to do the allthread, as many different cars as I build.

The Losi pack was the one I originally had on there(600mah), but my LHS ordered in some neat little Zippy 800mah packs. That is the one behind the servo, fits perfectly between the chassis.

yeah, my full size servo is centered on the front and the 600 is just velcro'd on a peice of lexan directly behind the servo.

"Holy Shnikes" Nathan, you need to by 2 body's when you build a rig....
1 body to figure out where it's gonna be finaly placed, and another to replace that swiss cheesed thing of a body you used in the first place!

Tanis - one of my buddies just built one of these up and I had a chance to look over the build for a few moments today. I noticed his upper links hit the springs on the stock shocks almost immediately and push the springs off the cups?

He was using stock shocks without any limiters but from what I could tell that wouldn't have made a difference. The uppers rubbed almost immediately.

You seeing that with yours? or is it a non-issue when running?

The spring does hit the upper link but it does not hit the shock ,He needs to lower it down because it was not designed to be ran at stock shock height. It will not hurt anything with it rubbing
