| Chassis?
I know this has been gone over a few times before. But, I'm really wanting a new chassis. I've still got the stocker, and I want to upgrade. I've been waiting for a GC2, but I don't know if that's going to happen. The OCD and PR concepts look promising too. So, give me your opinions please. Thanks! I have a DMG nat v3 I am getting rid of . But really if you want a "comp" worthy chassis in my opinion the chino darksoul is a pretty sweet chassis. I have explained why in other post, just do a search on chassis in this section and you will find endless hits. If interested in the DMG pm me.

I went with a Kamikaze Mini Zero and I love it! you will not believe how big of a upgrade a comp chassis really is.

The OCD is a nice setup as is the mini Slingshot. I am not a fan of the Tall GC2. Yes the link geometry is spot on but it won't allow the slamming of your body. That is a deal breaker for me.

Darksoul Chino. A bit expensive, but very complete. I've got a Mini Skeeter on the way as well, looking forward to checking it out.

I would go with the PR Concept chassis. It is a narrow chassis much like the GC2. Very easy to set up for competions.

I'm seeing a lot of votes for the DS chino chassis. Does the non delrin skid pose any problems? I'm guessing not by the responses, but I'm a bit surprised to be honest. Mike |

I personally like low profile chassis. I took the DNA chassis and made the width of it the same as the Gatekeeper Mini. So my motor hangs off the side a bit. As for Aluminum. It works, but I think aluminum will gash and make hooks and might grab the rocks, its all preference though. My preference is less aluminum is better = less weight and less breaking. Put weight in the only spots you need it like rims and call it good. HOW MUCH LONGER TILL WE GET TO SEE THE GC2???????? Last edited by fa1rch1ld; 07-22-2009 at 01:16 PM. Stock, the WB is 8.5 inches. That is the limit. Yes the new chassis should put you at 8.5.

Don't forget T1E's mini rockshow. That is what I built and I would definitely buy it again. The geometry works better than anything I have played with so far. Next choice would definitely be the Kamikazee mini chassis, it looks pretty sweet as well. Haven't been impressed with the RCBros chassis but I haven't seen the new mixer. Hopefully I will get to take a look at our next local comp since one of their drivers normally competes with us. Hope that helps. |
