All I did was re-taper the cups and picked up quite a bit of throw! Took all of 2min with a dremel to do it....thanks again!

Tried this about 20 min ago and it worked great. I couldn't find my dremel tool to re taper but i will dig for it and get that done but as of now it hits my stock trimmed up C's on the axle. I do need to grind on the tits some more. I was more nervous about them and didn't take enough off. Cole |

Quick way to get this done. Basically trim the cups with a drill press and an oversized bit. Gets you the coned angle.

This a awsome mod...Im glad I found this before I went out and bought some CVD's and knuckles....now I can put the money towards the chassis. One question though, I have a HiTec steering servo and It is not turning the wheels to the full capacity. Is there anything I could do to make it function better? |

You can attach the steering link to a point on the servo arm that is farther away from the center screw to get more throw, but be careful about pushing your servo too hard by hitting the limits of your steering's available travel. If the servo keeps trying to push when the steering linkages have hit the limits of their available travel, you will eventually damage the servo. You can use the dual-rate knob on your radio to dial back how far the servo travels to keep that from happening.

Yeah it's the little knob right behind the steering wheel.

I believe the speed listed is for 60 degrees. Most servos have more throw than that, but would take longer that the listed speed. Quote:

| Re: Modding stock MRC for increased steering throw
Can't believe I just found this. May have to give it a shot, along with the zero ackerman mod. Question, though. Is it possible, or even worth doing the zero ackerman mod on the stock RTR plastic knuckles?
