Here's the BEEF!! The LCC shafts turned down and cut to fit the mini and the felsenfest knuckles bored out to accept 10mm inner bearings, I also filed down the c's to fit the LCC stub, enjoy. Shelby

Well, I figure I ought to update this thread and share before I make a chassis change. I imagine yall can take a wild guess as to what thats gonna be.

So the biggest mod that all GC3 owners should do is fix the damn skid so that you can run a flanged ball rod end. I wanted to do this forever and holy crap did it free up the suspension in a big way. Here is a pic of the skid for reference.

Also, I got rid of the mongoose system right after ECC. It was my second system and both were just too finicky and inconsistent for my taste. So, I ran a handwound 280 16 turn cobalt canned losi XXX brushed motor from Crawler Mafia (Rock Hard on the forums). I LOVED the 16 turn. It had just enough torque with a 12 tooth pinion and TONS of wheelspeed on 2s.

However I have been recently running the 18 turn version, and I must say, the torque increase with the same 12t pinion is a huge difference. I almost uprooted a 5lb rock at our last comp when in a bind. It has at least as much torque that the mongoose had, but worlds better drag brake and about the same wheelspeed. It took a noticeable wheelspeed loss when compared to the 16 turn, but I think it was a fair trade off.

And there is another reason why I appreciate the added torque. I have been running these modded rovers for over 2 months now.

I also swithced to the DTX shocks and they have been nice. I used the longer rod ends on the rear to get a bit more rear clearance.

I also have all of my electronics mounted as far forward as possible.

And here is a pic of my steering if anyone cares.

This rig got me a 3rd place finish in 1.9 at Texas State finals, and has earned quite a few firsts locally. All of this was before a lot of these mods, so I have no doubt that it will be a contender at nats.
