They are roughly 24" square and anywhere from 6" to 8" high. I made them from some scrap 2x4 crate lumber. I just cut a bunch of random lengths and put angles on some of them and started screwing them together. We add them to our rock course for our indoor 1.9 comps and they work great. They can be used individually or placed end to end. They give us some pretty tricky lines with the holes and slickness of the wood. I'll try to get some more pictures tonight.

Had a chance to snap some quick pics before going to work. Here you go, hope this helps:

There are 3 different sets, I took different angles on a couple of them. The multi-colored chalk rings are from where we set gates. For a couple hours work and a handful of screws, they're hard to beat. I just hang them on the garage wall when they aren't being used.

Sweet! I got 5 2x4x8 today. Going to build some like yours then I also want to build some higher ones like 6" off the ground so it's like a hill.

Okay, here's another question. Just got my Mini Late Model shocks yesterday and was wondering about limiting them. Did you limit your's at all, or just run them full length?

I limited them internally with sections of pen springs. Page 2, post #22.

Yeah I found that post last night while building my shocks. Wasn't until after I got them mounted that I realized the springs from my micro would probably work.

Wow, almost 3 years since my last update on this rig! Well, the little guy has been driven and comped with regularly the whole time, and has performed well enough that I have literally done nothing to it in the 3 years. It was waaaay past time for some much needed maintenance and love. Since minis seem to be making a pretty strong come-back, I decided a complete tear-down and rebuild called for a set of these little goodies from CreationFab:

Yep, gonna do the XR mod... The Dlux LCC mod has been great and held up to a lot of abuse, but I wanted to see if I could get a little more steering. More to come...

Instructions for the XR adapters said to sand the axle housings a little at a time until a tight fit is achieved. I figured the best way to achieve a tight, uniform fit was to chuck the axle housing into my lathe. I bolted the pumpkin together and used zip ties to hold the ends of the housing together.

Doing it this way worked really well, and I was able to get the fit just right; tight enough to have to be twisted into place.

Adapter test fitment:

Now that I had this done, I had to figure out how I was going to mount my lower links. Since I'll be running XR/Wraith C's, the usual BWD Bomb-Proof shock/link mounts wouldn't fit. After some head scratching, I went back to the lathe and removed everything sticking out from the axle housing for an additional 1/4" on each end:

This gave me room to mount my new link/shock mounts I made from 1/4" Delrin. Again, a very tight fit, and a set screw in the front of each to make sure they stay put:

They aren't pretty, but I was pleased with how they turned out considering I did it all free-hand.

Here's the completed axle with link/shock mounts and XR adapters installed:

The finished axle is quite a bit wider than I expected, and the only way to remedy it is to ditch my custom Motoworx wheels and go with a flat-faced comp style wheel. Not a big deal, but I really like my old-school wheels and as I was looking at the newly finished axle, I realized what a great start it would be for a scaler build.
Sooo, after a few days to think it over, I decided to stick with the old LCC setup. I set the new axle aside and fired up my Dremel. After a little judicious grinding on the LCC CVDs I managed to get a couple more degrees of steering without significantly weakening them. I now have enough steering that I am into the lower links at full lock so any more steering would be unusable. While I was at it, I replaced the locker, ring gear, overdrive pinion, bearings, and even the axle housing; should be good for another 3 years now.

As I was re-assembling the rig after it's rebuild, I de-cased the receiver and shrink wrapped it to the ESC. Not much of a weight saving, but it made me feel better.

Did a little work on my tires; siped and shaved just like the 2.2s that I run on my Nightmare S sporty:

Also replaced the C.I. foams while I had the tires off. The old ones were still solid, but had compressed considerably over the 3 years they were in. Old foams next to new:
Maybe I should change the foams out a little more often...

Got everything put back together and painted some new panels for it; looks almost like a new rig now. I changed it up and went back to blue to match my sporty, but kept the tiger stripes since that's my son's and my "team theme".
Got in a hurry and grabbed the wrong bottle of blue, but it'll do.
We have a comp this Sunday, so I'll have a chance to see how the newly modified tires work.
Couple poser pics on my garage course just to show off the new paint:

Got a nice little package from Don today:

On the left is the new Mini Wedge LP2.0 in G10 with some cf goodness thrown in for good measure. On the right is a new set of cf Nightmare S chassis plates and a cf 'stubby' rear link mount. Also pictured is the new cf AX10/SCX10 motor plate. Glad I was able to take tomorrow off from work so I can start upgrading!

Closeup of the cf servo mount:

And the all-new cf motor plate. I'll be testing it along with the LP2.0 starting tomorrow.
